I think my clutch in my rear end needs to be replaced. Should I just use a factory one that'll go another 111,000 miles or should I upgrade now that I have power. If so, what aftermarket company do you guys and girls reccomend? Keep in mind with is still my daily driver. :)

Posi-traction/lockering/limited slip rear, have clutches that dirvert the power to both rear tires.

post-traction/ limited slip or a locking rear end have clutches that lock when on wheel strarts to spin on acceleration dirverting the power to the other rear wheel.:D

Powertrax.
Works like a Detroit Locker only cheaper.
Very streetable only a bit noisy like the Detroit locker is.
My Capri goes 9.70's at almost 140 mph with a Powertrax
Also, easy install without removing the ring gear carrier.
Check it out.;)

I bought a Detroit Truetrac been very happy with so far and when the pedal is to the metal it has always left 2 equal smoking tire tracks.

Can't put these in a factory posi carrier. Need to find an "open" carrier to put them in.
I would go with a Torsen type unit aka True-Trac. It's a posi unit that is all gears design. No clutches to wear out and no "clunking noise" when you give it gas or let off like a locker.
If you just replace the clutches in your factory unit, I guarantee you won't even make it to 50,000 miles without your posi becoming open end due to your new found power, unless you promised that you won't try to spin your tires everytime you take off. :D

If its the Maruader 8.8" rear I would replace with oem clutches. They install quickly even while car is on jackstands. It should take about an hour, no need to pull carrier to replace, nothing to adjust.

By the time you pay for the parts and labor for gears, clutches, and other possible (probable) bad parts such as spider gears and seals, you'd have been better off buying my complete spare rear end with 4.10 gears and a new OEM limited slip carrier.

Tomorrow I'm going to track down the Auburn Gear company for a 8.8" 28-Spline. It's got everything I need and isn't just a stock replacement so it'll hold up. I knew this is what I needed, but didn't know of the size. Now it's all taken care of and I need to find someone to install it tuesday. I know I'll be paying a stupid price for labor, but I want done now and not wait a week for some small guy in the suburbs.... usually I would take that road, but I want it now now now!!!

Yes sir and I didn't even give it full throttle yet. I needed more than just this part as it turns out. I'll have the car back later today. Thanks Merc, but I'm set.
