I really wanted to document the headers being installed pretty closely. Now I understand why no one has really done it yet. It's just about impossible to get up where you need to to take pics. So here's what I got...

Custom exhaust and H pipe removed:

Manifolds coming out. Lower control arms hanging cuz I was cutting springs/replacing shocks. More on that in another thread...

The H-pipe to muffler section was already custom. The 2nd cats had been removed and the pipes went from behind 2nd O2's to the mufflers. Since the headers dumped out slightly (like and inch) different then how things were, we had to customize.
So, to customize the custom piece, Steve and I first cut through the H pipe. We then shortened the L and R sections to fit and to line up the H pipe. We cut the H section to butt perfectly. The Steve welded the H back together. The result is an H pipe system that is configured and removable very similar to the stock setup. I'm very happy with our work.

They do look good... What are you doing for CATs and mufflers? I'm still saving for my install. Got any pics of the complete system?

Never mind Rich, I missed the last post above. I see you kept everything else that you had before. Cheers.

I think I am gonna go with magnaflow 2-1/2" high flow converters and 2-1/2" all the way back to 4" delete tips. Btw, those headers look sick...

Did you need O2 sensor extenders? If so, where did you get them?

I didn't, but just barely. Info here: http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=36631

I had my Stainless Works headers installed last weekend, along with my 3000 stall torque converter. I did need 02 extenders. Lidio's shop provided everything. I didn't have to bring anything extra.

He did not need them but his EGR tube would not fit this was a labor intensive install.

EGR tube too short? Too long" Wrong angle? Adapter in wrong spot?

Slightly wrong angle. It probly could have been muscled, but the end of the day was near. Also, it probly would have worked if I didn't have the PHP intake spacer.

They did take a little longer than a Kook's install, but it was mentioned that after installation, the SW allow removal of the starter w/o removing the header as Kook's requires.

Thanks, Rich. The tube that came with my s/c kit should help that little issue.
So did you have fun though?

Yep, I always look forward to visiting DR's. I always leave a happy camper. Take a look in his forum at the dyno after. Not a lot of gain overall, but hella gain down in low RPM's!
