This weekend, Dennis was nice enough to warranty my Monroe rear shocks while his crew and I replaced the front shocks. Edwin disassembled the front end for me. I then used DR's spring compressor to remove the front springs.
I cut EXACTLY 1 coil off of each. I wrapped a water soaked cloth around the 'keeper' side of the cut to keep the metal cool. I used a die grinder with cut-off wheel to cut and my lovely assistant, Leslie, kept the cuts cool by pouring water on as I stopped at about 20-25% intervals.
There was some discussion in previous threads about the Marauder shock having a different stop due to larger tire size. So, out of curiosity, I placed the Monroe next to stock. The Monroe comes with an external jounce bumper. From eye to top of bump is EXACTLY the same on stock MM vs, Monroe.
I reassembled the coil-over units with confidence (after above). Edwin and I placed the coil overs back in the car.
The next day, I took it to the alignment shop DR recommended (a block from his shop) and they aligned the car using a combo of crfixer's specs and the tech's own experience with DR cars.
Here are before and after stance pics. I took no measurements. Sorry. Leslie and I decided not to lower the rear to match. After some discussion, we felt the even tire to fender gap and aggressive rake would be cooler than tucking the rear tire.
After:

The after includes a chin spoiler (sorry cut off in pic) and DOES NOT CLEAR parking stops. It dropped a good inch to inch and a quarter.
Between the drop, and the new shocks all the way around and the alignment, it rides like a DREAM!!!!
