after being part of this site for a year - year 1/2 , i wonder if the number left out of the junkyard is under 9k, any ideas or is this all just a guessing game?
im starting to put a sign together for car shows to grab attention and educate the masses that dont stop and dont know what thier missing,
and to double check the total prod. # was 11,052 right?
That would be interesting to know, but easier said than done I'm afraid. I say tell people all 11,052 are still on the road, less temptation for some turdbuscuit to steal it.

I wonder how many are left with less than 2,000 miles on them?

Duncan - How about less than 5K.
I ran across a formula one time, years ago, that you could use as a guesstimate as to how many cars out of production run would be left after x years. You might be able to find that on the Net somewhere.

Here's a really rough magnitude estimate of those remaining over time. This probably represents a "worst case" since I suspect that many Marauders are better maintained than the average car. This indicates that by the year 2025 we might be down to 250 MMs total for both model years. Let's hope that we can double that. :2thumbs:
What this also shows is that we probably never had all 11,052 on the road since we were already losing '03 MMs while the '04 MM was still in production.

So using the chart above, you can approximate the number of remaining MMs in your particular bracket ....
That means in 2007 there were around:
269 '03 Blue MMs left (82.1% of 328) 6436 of 7839 '03s total = 82.1%. Assuming a +/- 5% margin of error, the range for Blue MMs is 256 to 282 remaining as of 2007.
894 '04 DTR MMs left (91.2% of 980) 2931 of 3213 '04s total = 91.2%. Assuming a +/- 5% margin of error, the range for DTR MMs is 849 to 939 remaining as of 2007.
Of course, this is all sheer speculation & guesstimation; but it shows the approximate trend assuming equal losses across all colors, etc.
Now go adjust the numbers on your 1 of XXX Flags. ;)

200 miles on it? That was dumb, they should have 2 miles on it.

It only took 200 to get the authentic inner wear on the front tires:lol:

as much as I would love to have a 200 mile car to show off in 20 years, I think I'd rather have a 2,000,000 mile car that I drove to the show in 20 years. now having the 200 mile car as well... I could deal with that...
