well i have the american thunder 40 series on the mustang and love it but the drone is not something i think i want in the marauder, hence my choice on using the delta flows. i put 50 series delta flows on my fathers 97 SHO and its nice but not loud enough for me. shora sent me the part number for the 40 Delta flows so i no longer need that.. do the res delete tips make that huge of a difference? i think that will be my next purchase. thanks all!

Res-delete tips do not make a "huge" difference. In fact it does not make it louder at all...what it does is change the sound (tone) adds more "re-verb"...that is, it allows the exhaust note to re-verberate (kind of like an echo)before exiting the tips...kind of like a low gurgling sound. This is were the "drone" comes from. So, if you go with delete tips...extend them out past the bumper cover @ 1 inch...this will help with the drone....Hope this helps ...ALOHA

DR's Cobra kit, Flowmaster Flugger's (similar to 40's) and 3.5" non res tips and people will hear you miles away like me. Not to mention gives you a kick ass sound that sounds better than a Mustang.

A high stall torque converter upgrade and 4.10 gear set will keep your revs up, improve your ride and keep the car from sounding so quiet without spending any money on an exhaust that may not be legal where you live.

I went w/ the Delta Flow 50's along w/ the 3.5" delete tips extended out 1.5".
I definately wanted to avoid the drone of Super 40's.

The look of the extended tips & the sound is still growing on me.

If I good do it again, Delta Flow 40's & stock tips !!!!!!!!

On the Blackbird, I have Dennis's Cobra system (manifolds and X-pipe) with Flowmaster 40s and I dislike the sound...way too loud and tinny. I know some of that is due to the X-pipe versus an H-pipe, but the Silver Birch with the identical exhaust system and Magnaflow mufflers sounds much better. I'm going to change the Blackbird to Magnaflows.

[QUOTE=Local Boy;510666]Res-delete tips do not make a "huge" difference.

2nded. Although I'm happy to have the weight off the rear of the car, if I had it to do again, I would not do the delete tips, and go directly to the mufflers. I think you could use a much more open muffler with the resonators in place, and still have a nice sounding ride without the drone.

No. Res delete tips make a HUGE difference. I had 50 series on my car and hated it because it wasn't loud enough, I thought it was the mufflers. I bought Flugger's which are similar to 40's, and they were slightly louder. I got my res delete tips and I was blown away by the sound.

Yeah after I got my res-delete tips on I notice just an all around better tone that made me grin more. I have my second of cats removed, flowmaster super 40's and of course res-delete tips extended out past the bumper 1.5".

I've been thinking about changing them and getting the new Super 44's mufflers. I've been waiting for my friend to get them on his 04 Mach 1 so I can get an idea of their sound.

Raudermaster---Is this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8EOPTgkVzQ) your clip? If so, do you have any cats in this setup? What caught my attention was the "DR Cobra" as this is the same setup that I'm persuing, except with 18" magnaflows.
