I will pay anyone a reasonable amount to develop and produce a tool
to adjust our Trunk Lid Torsion Springs.
I am tired of my trunk lid hitting me in the back every time
I get something out of my trunk.

The Service Manual mentions that there is a tool for this.
My Dealer knows of no such tool.
The Body Shop knows of no such tool.

I KNOW that there is a tool because for YEARS trunk hinges had
adjustable torsional springs.

So who is willing to produce this ?

These are the tools that you can use.

A large box-end wrench.

or

A deep 10mm or 1/2" socket on a breaker bar.

Slip either the box-end or the deep socket over the bent portion of torsion rod and adjust as needed.

Use care when adjusting as the torsion springs are under a high load.

Neither of these tools are long enough, safe enough,
or at the correct angles to provide the leverage to adjust the spring.
I would NEVER use a socket slipped over the end of a torsion spring
that is on the end of a breaker bar.

I will pay a reasonable amount for the CORRECT Tool.

I went and spent $100 on a torque wrench to replace my spark plugs
so that I was sure that:
1 - The plugs are installed correctly.
2 - The heads are not stripped.

I think the $100 investment is much cheaper
than having the engine torn down for cutting corners.

The correct tool is out there or in someone's imagination.
Make it and I'll pay you for it.

The tool is probably something that truckers have been using for years to pull the handle of the fifth wheel without having to bend over to unhook the trailer.
Except it would have a eye to catch the bar.

Contact GordonB. I think he had an idea for a tool/method to adjust the trunk spring to keep his trunk lid up with the weight of the trunk liner and spoiler. He told me about it about 2 years ago ... but I can't remember the details.

:dunno: They work fine for me.

Have you checked with Snap On?

Any other large tool company?

Usually when the manual states there is a special tool they give the tool number. If not in the very article, in an appendix or overall tool list

I have always used a old serpentine belt. Grab the end of the spring with the belt and pull it up and over to the next setting. That's what we use at my dealer.
