I was driving newly blown Marauder tonight and when I gave it full throttle at 30mph for the downshift it died. The car will fire up, but it will not stay running for more than two seconds at the most. I say it's a fuel pump because when you give it gas thats when it seems to die even sooner. Another member who knows these cars inside and out says it's a tube of some sort that went out by the passenger side of the air intake.
Now I did remove and reinstall the intercooler because I painted it black. Any thoughts??? Please tell me now because I am going to be working on this car and tonight might go hunt down a fuel pump if I can find one if I cannot find anything lose.

Check for that disconnected tube then and reconnect it.
Why did you paint the intercooler black?

I don't want anyone to see that I'm packing power. I think I have to paint the clamps black later this weekend.

Check every intake tube connection from the supercharger all the way to the intake. You will have to look everything over real close. (I've had it happen before myself.) Chances are it is one of the connections you took appart to paint the IC.

Sounds like a vacuum hose Dom, like everyone said, check for loose or disconnected hoses. It is not the fuel pump, the car would'nt start at all, when fuel pumps go bad they generally stop functioning period. If it was flaring (revving) before it died I would say possible fuel starvation, but I highly doubt it.

So did you find the disconnected intake piping? Was it anywhere near the intercooler?

Yes I found it and it solved the problem!!! :D It actually wasn't a tube I messed with last weekend when I removed the intercooler. It was right by the drivers side fog light. All the stuff I touched is still in tight.
I did notice that the car is now faster than ever so this probably means I was having a leak for a little while and it finally just gave away. Jason this engine hasn't had kerosene, Zack now has position of that engine. :P Zack was actually the first to tell me that this maybe the issue so I tip my hat to him once again for helping me out over the phone. :bows:

Now I did remove and reinstall the intercooler because I painted it black. Any thoughts??? Dom, what kind of paint did you use? Back in the day (when I used to know something about cars), we were always taught NOT to paint the radiator unless you used some special paint, as regular paint would lower the rad's ability to transfer heat.

I did the same thing with mine , no problems--cause with my black MM I didn't like that shiny metal coming thru the diamind grill .....it didn't look good --the car was ment to be black all over --and of course not let those looking at it realize it had some go juice...

I used a gloss black spray paint and I asked a very good source before I did this. I was going to use a brake caliper paint, but was told to stay away from that because it's too thick. Don't worry Bob, I got this covered. ;)

It actually just was a tube for air flow. All is well now and the fuel pump is fine. :)
