Logan this is just something that happened today, I don't mean to advertise anyone, if you want I'll bleep out all the names mentioned...

anyway:

About the funniest thing happened in a while to me while I was down in Freehold, NJ checking out Marc's JDM chip install when me and Marc went out to check out the lot of the local dealership: Irvin Lincoln-Mercury.

We were killing time, so we went to check out all the 2003 Town Cars sitting on the lot, the dealer came up and we started talking. I immediately told him we're just browsing and don't want to waste his time but somehow we started talking and he told us about a Silver Marauder he got in the back. We went to check it out and next thing you know he comes back with a key to it. Check it out... test drive it! He insisted.

So we did. The Silver Rauder was as slow as a boat accelerating. Couldn't get out of its own way, felt like my dad's 98POS only much less beat (well, technically its not yet broken into) Anyway, we came back and he asked me if he can check out my Supercharged Vic that he overheard us talking about during the test drive. I'm like "Sure! by all means" So he did. Went to get his business card and came back with a Marauder-Performance-Expert or some silly title like that guy that apparently specialized in Marauder sales and was very enthusiastic about it.

We get to talking and he loves the way the AED looks. Asked a bunch of questions and somehow my site came up. He goes, no kidding I've visited your site! I couldn't believe it. He than reached out his hand and introduced himself although I already forgot his name and I offered a test drive in my car. Well this test drive lasted LONGER than my Marauder test drive and he enjoyed it much more. Turns out the guy has a very sweet Mark 8 and displayed it at Dearborn at Ford 100th. When I mentioned I was there as well with my whole CVN crew, the conversation just got longer and longer.

Anyway, to make a long story short, it was really cool seeing a Dealer that actualy gave a funk about something they sell. And both of the sales guys were extremely enthusiastic and actualy did research in their field of work and in the performance aftermarket life of their products. So big props to Irvin LM and if I get to buy a Silver Marauder a year from now it'd definitely be from them, LOL! They sold me!

I thought it was cool the dealer visited www.jerseyvics.com

So the Marauder is so slow that it can't get out of its own way, but you're considering buying one? What did I miss?

don't get offended... a stock Marauder is obviously faster than a stock Crown Vic... a new Marauder needs a little break in. a supercharged Marauder is da ****!

it'd totaly love the DOHC!

Thats why I bought my Rauder from them... they knew a thing or two compared to some other folk. The particular Mark VIII owner you're speaking of also owns a SWEEEET 1970 LS6 Chevelle SS. He's a good guy to know. It was good meeting you today, Russ... your ride is Bad A$$!

Man Russ, if a Marauder can't get out of it's own way, there's no hope for a regualr Crown Victoria

When you compare a stock, brand new Marauder to a supercharged CrownVic, it would seem slow. Like going from an 03 Cobra to a Mach 1. Neather are SLOW per say, but the Cobra defenatly smokes the Mach 1.

Russ...keep in touch if you come down to E-town...I live 3 miles from E-town and would love to show my other toys.

Mike, I'm currently searching for a decent deal on a transmission if you have any leads let me know... once its done I expect to hit the track quite often!

Others, please don't misunderstand my post. I thought it was really cool that my car was more impressive to the dealer than the Marauder on the lot was to me. Seriously nothing against Marauders I still want one. What was cool to see was that my theory worked to some degree: get a used PI, spend $5k (or a little more in my case) to supercharge it and you can beat a Marauder..... However, there are a million and one things that are better about the Marauder and make me want it even more, I just can't afford it at the moment.

thats it.... now get off my case, this post was supposed to be entertaining!

An 03 Cobra, yes. An 01 Cobra, I think the table would be turned. That Mach1 is the ****z!

I like your Marauder better Rob, heh

actualy when you and Ryan pulled out the three of us left in the lot were like following you guys out with a long stare.... the Marauder sound is awesome, must be those tips!

--Russ

PS. by the way, I didn't hear much of that growl inside the car during the Silver Marauder test drive... mine sounds deafening inside and out.

Well, I guess I did too, which is why I left this thread alone. I've had enough of asking "what's up with this?" only to be considered going on the attack. If it isn't someone clearly asking for advice, I haven't much to say anymore.

parking the Marauder back in its spot was funny....

I pulled in the lot, tried backing into the spot I took it from
and had a very difficult time finding the shifter to hit R on the column....

LOL I totaly forgot about the floor shifter for a second, before
anyone could notice I corrected my mistake but it was still goofy!

Marauder would take some getting used to after a non SAP/Sport/LSE Vic/Monkey!

Hey Reaper,

I'll post all that info as soon as all the bugs are worked out...

I'm calling Mike now to see what we can do with this tranny, sux not having all gears.

--Russ :)

PS. You're up by the Island Dragway aren't you? Or somewhere's around there.... do you keep track when they have Free Racing nights, I'd love to hit one of those, even with a busted tranny to get some base numbers before spending a bunch of lunch money at E-town.... heh
