About the funniest thing happened in a while to me while I was down in Freehold, NJ checking out Marc's JDM chip install when me and Marc went out to check out the lot of the local dealership: Irvin Lincoln-Mercury.
We were killing time, so we went to check out all the 2003 Town Cars sitting on the lot, the dealer came up and we started talking. I immediately told him we're just browsing and don't want to waste his time but somehow we started talking and he told us about a Silver Marauder he got in the back. We went to check it out and next thing you know he comes back with a key to it. Check it out... test drive it! He insisted.
So we did. The Silver Rauder was as slow as a boat accelerating. Couldn't get out of its own way, felt like my dad's 98POS only much less beat (well, technically its not yet broken into) Anyway, we came back and he asked me if he can check out my Supercharged Vic that he overheard us talking about during the test drive. I'm like "Sure! by all means" So he did. Went to get his business card and came back with a Marauder-Performance-Expert or some silly title like that guy that apparently specialized in Marauder sales and was very enthusiastic about it.
We get to talking and he loves the way the AED looks. Asked a bunch of questions and somehow my site came up. He goes, no kidding I've visited your site! I couldn't believe it. He than reached out his hand and introduced himself although I already forgot his name and I offered a test drive in my car. Well this test drive lasted LONGER than my Marauder test drive and he enjoyed it much more. Turns out the guy has a very sweet Mark 8 and displayed it at Dearborn at Ford 100th. When I mentioned I was there as well with my whole CVN crew, the conversation just got longer and longer.
Anyway, to make a long story short, it was really cool seeing a Dealer that actualy gave a funk about something they sell. And both of the sales guys were extremely enthusiastic and actualy did research in their field of work and in the performance aftermarket life of their products. So big props to Irvin LM and if I get to buy a Silver Marauder a year from now it'd definitely be from them, LOL! They sold me!
