NOT blown head gaskets after all.

Some of the sleeves had dropped.

Pistons, rings, bearings, heads, crank look good. Some of the teflon is worn off the piston skirts and bearings. Ceramic coatings look pretty good, only a couple of places with minor erosion in the combustion chambers. It had about 11,000 miles.

Deck and hone the block, resurface the heads and lap the valves, new rings and bearings, new gaskets and seals.

Gonna have just a little more compression, it was 9.7 and now it should be about 9.9:1.

With leaking head gaskets, 9.7:1 cr, and overdrive crank pulley it made 350/350 N/A. Now it's gonna have good cylinder sealing, 9.9:1 cr, and underdrive crank pulley. Hoping to hit 400 N/A.

I sure hope you were not out of pocket any.
Rather, reimbursed for your troubles.

Brian,

Good luck with the repairs. I'm amazed that those high tech sleeves can slip down. Any idea on why/how they did that ?

+1....

I'm watching this thread, as my DOHC has Big Bore sleeves.
:depress:

What were your engine's symptoms?
(I must have missed another thread)

I agree with Joe, I'm curious too but didn't see another thread. I hope you hit 400!

Let us know what the machine shop says about this.
sleeves dropping is unusual.

Sorry to hear about the setback Brian. There is no doubt in my mind you will acheive 400 NA with that motor and the work you have out into it.
