On 9-15-07 at the Central Florida Fairgrounds in Orlando, there is the 9-11 Memorial Car Show run by the Orange County Sheriff's Office. I have spoken to one of the representatives of the show who works for the Orange County Sheriff's Office. The show is open to all cars and they are giving out 100 trophies. There will also be food, merchandise vendors (both law enforcement & non-law enforcement related), music, prizes, displays and an auction.
You can start arriving at 8:30 AM for registration. The show is from 10AM to 3:30PM. Pre-registration is $20 and at the gate is $25 per car. It does not cost a thing if you just want to go and look and not show your car. All the money goes for the Law Enforcement Memorial Fund, the Firefighter Memorial Fund and the Children's safety Village of Central Florida. Click this LINK (http://www.jeprox.us/vic/registrationfor2007carshow.doc ) to download the registration form for the show. It is a Word document and I checked it for viruses already. It is on my Domain so it safe.
I would like to see those who want to go, meet up near the Fairgrounds and go as a Group. Speak up if you are interested, it is for a great cause and looks like it will be a great time. I also posted this on CVN, so hopefully we can get a lot of Panthers to show up.

We've been there the last several years, and have had anywhere from 6-10 Police vehicles with us. Good event, and a good cause!

Do you know that if we went as a group would they put us together or do they separate cars out? I forgot to ask today when I talked to the representative.

Starman,
for the none L/E vehicles, they are outside and I'm sure they could park everyone as a group.

Sure thing. BTW, I see you are in Indian Rocks..one of my Mustangs used to be the Fire Chief's in that district! Don't know if you were there in the 80's/90's but it ran all over that part of Pinellas County. Small world.

I have been here since 1985. I remember that one. Good to see it went to someone who appreciates it.

I have spoken to MaLo03 and he is checking for a place for us to meet up that morning. It may be a Steak and Shake that way we can grab breakfast if need be. There are two on the same street on opposite sides of the fairgrounds. I will post a final location soon. It would be cool for us to go in as a Group and turn some heads.

Hey y'all!
Next weekend is the show in Orlando. I was waiting to hear from someone about a place to meet up and I think he is busy traveling on the road. After some looking and using Google Earth, I found a McDonald's near the Fairgrounds.
It is on the same side of the road as the fairgrounds and to the east of it. That way we can pull out in one line, stay in right lane and 1.4 miles (+/-) down the road is the fairgrounds entrance.
The address for the McDonalds is 3005 WEST COLONIAL DRIVE
ORLANDO, FL 32808. It is just west of the North John Young Parkway. Looking at the photo, you would get to I4 by going southbound on North John Young Parkway.

There is not a lot of parking at the McDonald's but there is a shopping center directly behind it and accessible by driving through the McDonald's parking lot. So when you arrive head that way and look for the Panthers.
Registration for the show starts at 8:30 am and the show starts at 10am. I was figuring we could leave the McDonalds at 9AM or so, allowing folks time to get to the McDonalds who may be coming from afar. Anyone have other thoughts on this?
I plan to display my car but just for the heck of it. It is not a show car by any stretch of the imagination. For those so inclined like my wife, there is a flea market on the same property.
So I hope those of you who were not sure about coming were able to clear your calender for this. I look forward to seeing everyone. Don't forget chairs, umbrellas, cleaning supplies, any food or drink you may want if you don't want to buy at the Fairgrounds and sunscreen. Did I miss anything? Post here if you have any questions.
