Hi Gang,

I have finally seen the future - and it is a Silver Birch KB MM-S!

Seriously, a week ago (6/30) I finally saw my nearly completed Silver Birch MM at Kenny Brown's. By the time you read this, it should have been finished and sent over to Crossroads Lincoln-Mercury to sit in the showroom for a while. Sarge is taking me down there on the 16th to pick it up, after which I'll take a short road trip to Dayton, OH (business/possible interview) and South Bend, IN (Tire Rack, for some steel wheels to mount the OE tires on), and then home to Chicagoland. I can't wait!!

Note to marauderhombre: I hope you plan to put wheel locks on it immediately!!!

But that's not the reason for this post.

Some of you know that I left my last job in May when I kicked over the wrong rock and discovered some illegal activities and left the company (no - I won't talk about it - wait for the newspaper). I have been frenetically job hunting. So when the holiday weekend rolled around, my wife and I decided to take a little time off and visit friends in Dayton before the Fourth, and then go to her parents' B&B in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania for a little R&R.

So - Monday we left Jim Thorpe, PA, on the way back to Chicagoland. We're driving along PA State Route 93, headed for I-80, somewhere between Hudsondale and Beaver Meadows (see: maps.yahoo.com). I'm driving and look down the road and see a black car on the side of the road, parked nose-to-the-street in an unpaved driveway. I'm thinking "looks like a Marauder" and immediately come to the conclusion that there never would be a Marauder out here. Too remote, to economically depressed, etc.

By the time we cover the next quarter mile, sure enough, it is a Marauder! Black and box-stock, and in GREAT condition.

AND IT HAS A "FOR SALE" SIGN ON IT.

So - if you are looking for that spare Marauder to stash in the garage, there may be a deal to be had.

Unfortunately, I couldn't stop and jot down the number, but if someone wants it I will try to persuade my outlaws to go and write it down. If any of you might have a clue whose car this is (or was), post a followup. For those of you who want to make a road trip, it's up off the Northeast Extension, or southeast of Hazelton & I-81 in PA. Probably real near Hudsondale, or just southeast on PA-93.

File this under...'How about That?!'

Mark I am not far from the area, will check it out maybe this weekend. Lots of people have second homes in that area.

Jim,

Cool! If you approach from the Jim Thorpe side (going up the steep hill from Nesquahoning), over the top and down again, it's a little past where the road swings uphill again, after that little bridge.

NO! 93 Branches. Near where Old Man Fisher used to live, and across the street from where Sally's dog had its pups. Right next to the well they filled in in '53.

Ya'll make fun but I have been dispatched to a lot of calls like that.....car 24 respond to the house over the three bridges on the left next to the old house that burned then take a left at the fork, park your car, swim across the creek, and take a stolen boat report....... um 324 dispatch tell the boat owner to meet me on this side of the creek.....dispatch he says he cant swim....324 dispatch give me the fire dept I dont have proper gear for swimming in the cruiser today! :) very close to a true call I had

Nope - right out on State Route 93. The driveway entrance is right off that road.
