They are about to release a new IRON Cammer block.
Basically the same as the Aluminum model, only iron.
It will retail for $2200, but the early forecasts say they can be Purchased for $1900.

It will use the Cobra crank and rods, but a different piston.

This is just the block, to clarify.
Thought id share it with the group

They will also release an all aluminum long block for the Cobra. I got this info from the Ford rep at FFW Richmond.

What compression ratios are we looking at for both blocks.

Glen I don't get that information. Sorry I should have asked.

Most likely will be low.
Build your own with high compression.

My next project, if it ever happens, will be a 11.1:1 Compression 4.6 with a Vortech T-Trim and 12 lbs of boost. On pump gas

Dude, are you sure about 11:1 with 12 lbs??? What kind of gas do you use?

I was just being conservative.

It could handle 18lbs easily with 93 octane. The added compression would make up for the low boost.

Everyone underestimates the benefits of aluminum cylinder heads with a good tune and an intercooled supercharger.
