Morning all,

Has anyone out there had any problems with the lumbar supports in their MM's not airing up. You can hear my pump working but nothing happens.

Thanks ,
Mike

Ha

I thought the same thing when I was writing the thread.

Thats what I love about this site. A sense of humor is needed when talking about the problems with service techs and dealerships or my own Lumbar Dilema.

Thanks RF.
Mike

Sorry, Cap'n...I just couldn't resist... :D

I've not heard of the lumbar problem, but there must be some sort of hose or tubing from the pump to the air bladder, maybe it's just not connected? I don't know if you can access any of that without either removing the seat or dismantling something...

Hey Capt, I will take a look at the service manual when i get home. see if I can find a schematic (is that spelled right?)

I need to install a DVD drive here at the office since I browse from here most the time.

Basically the manual says take it to the dealer. There are two sensors in the seat area for air bag activiation.

There are two service checks.

1. Check the motor has power if yes disconnect the lumbar support airline hose and check for air flow if airflow is present replace lumbar pad
2. if airflow is not present replace lumbar motor

test for proper operation

Couldnt find a diagram for the lumbar motor and air hose assembly

capt512: When I had heated seats installed in December they found the passenger side not working, just a hose, quick fix.
Quality is job#1?

Thanks again to all you guys and gals for responding to my post. Know more what to expect.

We sure have a great bunch of knowledgeable, MM owners here so we are fortunate in 2 respects. Our group and our cars.

Have a great day everyone and its off to the dealer .:argue: I go.

Mike
