Last night was the biggest car show of the year at Canal Fest in Tonawanda, NY. I had the only Marauder there. I gladly spent my birthday (at a car show, what place better) standing next to my car answering all the questions that came at me; to the best of my knowledge.
the lady next to me in was with her husband and was complaining the whole time.
She said" i dont know why they let these new cars into the show. They're all loud and *****. Look at that car. Its just a Crown Vic with a police package."
I was cleaning the tips on my car so i came over and starting explaining the differences and why the MM is better than the Vic.
"oh, my father was a cop for twenty years and he said that they were the same"
blah, blah, blah.
So i cant help myself
"So you know about the Marauder because you've driven one right? Done the research and realized that the Marauder is better that the Vic so this conversation would have never happened. But thats ok, you must know everything."
But enough about that. Alot of people didnt know what the Marauder was and were impressed. So it is safe to say, besides the lady next to me, I think i did a good job making the general public aware of the Marauder and all of it's awesomeness.

One question for the Senior Marauder knowledgers.
I was approached by a man whos son has a 03 Blue marauder. he said that when ford had started taking orders they offered it in black and blue. the blue only lasted 3 weeks though. please help in my quest to quench my thirst for knowlegde. Was this legit? as far as i know, only black in 03 and the othr follewed in 04. thanks!!

Blue was only offered in 2003. Only 328 were made. I believe Sliver Birch was also offered in late 2003.

In 2004 you could get a Black, Dark Toreador Red and Silver Birch.

You could get the Light Flint and Dark Charcoal interior in 2003 & 2004.

The moonroof option was only offered in 2004.

Try the search function.

Tonowanda, NY. Sounds like recruiting duty to me. :D

Way to go at the car show and it sounds like you did a great job of representing the MM community -- I have had the same "What's is So Special about THAT car" thing come up before as well. That's why I made my showboard to answer alot of the questions up front. Once they find out about the limited production, its features and link to Mercury muscle car history, then just murmur -- "I had no idea". We'll keep educating the public until they finally get it.

As for the Blue MMs. They are all 300B models and production began about in mid-December 2002 and ran through about June 2003 or so. The 3-week run is not accurate. Only 328 blues were made during that time. Mine was built on 10 January 2003. According to Steve Babcock, the MM Program Manager, there were about 125 made with Light Flint interior and 203 with Charcoal interior. Membership here on the MM.Net among Blue MM owners seems to favor the Light Flint interior.

I had an older lady walk up to me as I was getting out of mine at Wal-Mart and ask all snotty, "Why do people fix up old cop cars" I said "How the hell should I know? Ask someone who drives one." and walked away.

Excellent, couldn't have said it better myself.

For the record, I'm not mean to older folks or anyone any age in general but she got in my face for some unknown reason. I have zero tolerance for slackers and mean people.

i had a man ask me to move my car once when i was attending a very large graduationparty. he came over and announced to the whole party, "would da guy wit a black CAPRICE move his car please?" i naturally looked to my brother and shook my head. on the way out i had to tell himthat it is a marauder. he said it just looked like an old cop car, so i explained to him the differences.

although i thought my quest for marauder awareness was over, it wasnt. no later than 5 minutes after explaining to him what a marauder is, he came back in to say, "the cop car needs ta move," to which i said smiling that it wasnt a cop car, hoping he was just breaking my nuts, but then he said it, "the black CAPRICE, or MARY-THINGY, THE CAR WITH THE BLACK WINDOWS AND BIG RIMS!":shake: and to think when i was explaining it to him, he kept asking questions about it...

In the interest of full disclosure, Steve did not quote specific numbers to me. He just said that "... the Blue/Light Flint was the rarest combination". From that information, I knew that it was not a 50-50 split. So, I assumed a 60-40 split. That works out as 131- Blue/Light Flint and 197 - Blue/Charcoal. The 125/~200 sounded better. ;) It could me slightly more or less but it ain't even at 164/164.

Hope this is a better reflection of "reality".

A 70's Caddy? Junk, I wouldn't even have spoken to them. The real Caddys were in the 50s and 60s.

i also love the 30s and 40s. im a sucker for real metal cars... when they were built for looks and feel and class, not mpg.

well, the caddy was better than the 94 chevy beretta z26 that was on the other side. it had rims, ground effects, a cannon, tints and a steering wheel cover. please.:puke:
