Went to leave my daughter's school, it would not budge out of park. Odd, nothing seemed wrong on the way there or when I parked. Logic took over, brake interlock. Sure enough, found a wire dangling. Had to borrow a flashlight to see where it is supposed to reside. Bingo! Off and running again.

You must have big feet like me and got loose into the wires.

Nope, no big feet--- I'm only 5'2" & size 6 shoe. My guess is that I must have pushed on the pedal while turning my body around to talk to my daughter. In doing so, I must have slipped at some point to get my foot that high up. Don't remember doing it though.

It was embarassing to ask the principle for help (flashlight), but he was impressed that I was able to 'fix' it so fast. I can imagine a mechanics glee from seeing a car towed in and being such a simple fix.

Some who aren't that honest may charge a diagnostics fee and even charge for a replacement part that wasn't even needed. I don't think that all mechanics are this way. I worked at place and saw this done as well received the same treatment myself.
