Just like the rest of you I am struck with Mod Fever. As of right now my MM is completly stock except for my flash tune (predator). I would like to be able to at least get a little rubber from a dead stop, no brakes... I also want more sound(but most importantly more power! :banana2:), so I am thinking of getting new exhaust, headers and all probably all custom made. Would this give a noticable power increace? or should I go with a diff mod first? I dont know if i want to change gears yet cause it is my DD and i put on a lot of highway miles. Of course i want to do both and much more, but cant afford to do but one at a time. I want some good mods to hold me over till i can save enough for a S/C.

Underdrive pulleys

4.10's - you'll only use 1-2mpg.

Colder plugs

Colder thermostat

Cold Air Intake

The 4.10s could present a problem with winter driving. Thats one of the reasons I've not done this mod.

Install these mods and they'll really wake up the car.

IMO, next step would be a higher stall TC, then the exhaust.

Of course, you could go SC'd and burning rubber from a dead stop is no problem!:D

Do the plugs and t-stat make a noticable difference? My car has a Lidio tune,4.10's,and a JLT and it does not spin from a stop...allthough my air quality is about '4000.

I've got 4.10s and have driven in 2 winters with the car (We're talking deep snow and -40ºC at times). Absolutely no problems whatsoever.

OK, I have the CAI in the works, any suggestions on the "best one"? I am currently looking at the K&N one, says adds 17hp, but is $100 more than the JLT one... As for the 180* stat, what part do I say I want exactly, just a 180* for any 4.6 ford? Denso Iridium IT-20 Spark plugs seem to be the most popular..are these recomended? Just a few more questions (im fairly unknowlegable when doing any mods to a car like this:confused:) How difficult is changing the plugs on this car, i read some posts were it sounded like you would need new wires if i did it myself?? How hard is it to switch to the underdrive pullys(i didnt find an old post on this yet). And would i need to customize my flash tune to accomadate for any of these mods? I think i would like to go with some 4:10 or 4:30 gears. but not for a bit yet. I am in the process of getting a different daily driver so i dont need to put the MM through the snow...and so i can continue to mod the hell out of it of course.

sorry for all the questions, but i appreciate all/any help, Thanks:beer:

180 stat for a 4.6L.

NGK TR6 plugs

Since the motor is running a little cooler you can run more timing - more timing = more power :burn:

Plugs are easy to change - Remove the coil covers, remove the COP, blow out anything in the wells, unscrew the old plugs, screw in the new plugs (use a small amount of anti-seize), torque plugs to the correct specification (use the search function), replace COP, replace coil covers (use a small dab of silicone sealer at the rear on the covers to prevent water from entering.

The underdrive pulleys come with detailed instructions - follow them to the letter.

If you drive 20K miles per year @$3 a gallon the 4:10 will cost you an extra $150 per year, well worth it!
