Hey gang,

Just got my UDs from Brenspeed, got a bargain on their 03 Mach I, Marauder kit. The instructions say NOT to use the alternator UD pulley on the Mach I, which means us, too.

Q: DOES ANYONE KNOW WHY NOT??? What a waste, man!!! :shake:

Also, did anyone else fix a squealing pulley situation? Mine squeals when I rev it up, and especially between shifts... Common problems? Any ideas?

The MM alternator pulley has a clutch that allows it to freewheel at higher RPM's. Check your idler pulley and tensioner pulley, might be going bad. If not switch to a Gatorback belt. They are sold at AutoZone stores. Ask for P/N 4060922. They go for $30 - $40 bucks.

The stock clutched pully is worth much more than the plain replacement pully, IMHO.

As for the squealing pully... I'd say you need a new belt along with cleaning all the other pullies. I had that problem with my old TA. I used belt dressing, and cleaned the pullies......in the end I replaced the belt and walla, the squeal was gone.

After replacing my tensioner pulley makes a whine sound, kind of like a vortech/procharger when I'm at 1500 rpm and above.

Thanks guys,

That certainly explains it.

I, too, had an awesome blower whine when I would rev it up. It lasted a month, but is nearly gone.

The scary thing, is that it didn't go AWAY when you replaced the tensioner, but showed UP! I hate when that happens...
