It's a clear day with sunny skies here in Chicago so I decided to take the Marauder out for my birthday today. After all I spent last week putting four coats of polish and three coats of wax on it. So I'm out running my errands and as I am driving along I notice the brake pedal getting spongy. Pretty soon it is falling to the floor acting as though the master cylinder went out to lunch. I start driving cautiously and thank God I am not on the highway, although I'm in Downers Grove about 25 miles from home, and the brake light comes on on the dash. Over I pull expecting to look under the hood and find an empty master cylinder, which I did eventually. As I step out of the car I can see fluid running on the ground, obviously this can't be good. I look at the left rear wheel and it is covered with brake fluid as well as the wheel well and the rest of the brake parts. After taking a quick glance it looks like the rubber line let loose from the metal part of the brake line. I get the car back home and the wheel is toast, the brake fluid completely ate through the clear coating and needs to be replaced. I'm going to take the car apart tomorrow to confirm that the brake line in fact ruptured. If this is the case I'll order the steel and braided lines from DR. Can I replace these and bleed the brakes in a normal fashion or is there a special procedure because of the anti-locks? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can use my VIN for warranty and a new wheel if your dealer is cool

If the brake fluid takes the finish clean off, then by all means remove the rest. Then order up some Nyilac coating from Eastwood and have it re-applied. Its the strongest and clearest wheel coating you can buy. Dont toss out a good wheel when it can be fixed rather cheaply. This is the stuff that is used on wheels by the factory and it isnt very expensive.
