Time to bring this mofo back to TX!!! :banana2:
TX is too far the other way!
I said it before, and I will say it again... the KY, IN, OH corner is the most central area to the MAJORITY of members. Or even TN....
Unfortunately, I do not think there are enough in OH with the drive to make one happen here :(

Keep this in mind. Planning a Marauderville isn't easy. The Money to off set the cost for the events is made through the raffles. With the 2 sites now it is harder to get people to buy the Raffle tickets. Last year at Marauderville IV we sold out the raffles the last minute, we got lucky. Marauderville V only 61 out of the 125 S/C Tickets were sold making it more costly to do events. Also you have to look at the Vendor raffles to help too. And that hasn't been too strong either with the tickets. I'd love to see the day when some members can forgive and forget the past and move foward . Until then in my opionion who ever takes on the task of another Marauderville will have a Hard time pulling it off. It would be Great if both site's next year could work together on this yearly event.

First 3 MV's raised more than enough dough. Y'all are too dependant on "raffles"... Talk about done to death. There's only so many times someone is going just toss away $100...
It certainly can be done, but lazy schmucks need not apply, and it helps to have some star power. Little or no vendor support is a kiss of death.
Anyway.... Way a 'tec.. I just remembered I don't care and don't have to care either... :)

Gee, it would be a shame if it had to revert to being just a good old get-together like the first Marauderville...
I went to that one not looking for 3 course gourmet meals with pre-planned everything else. Somewhere over the years it turned into such a massive production that it seems it is more work than fun.
Why can't it go to Texas? How about St. Louis? I remember a lot of us voting for Vegas! Nothing wrong with Philly but isn't that just a couple hours from the current MV-V? Why have them on top of each other?
Bah... I guess I'll stick to Woodward till everyone else comes to their senses.

MV IV in Florida was very successful and we had the funds to cover more than we had planned. Plus, Florida is a great place to visit, lots to do for the family while we play with our cars. Even though it was a tremendous amount of work, we had a great planning team and made it happen. I personally would love to entertain another Marauder event here in the future. We all had a blast:D.

SSHS8 is open to a major sponser. The Impala club is not hosting SSHS8 and the November, 2008 event has no sponser. How about MM.net being the sponser and host at Commerce, GA. The event for heavy weight cars has a big draw. You have a major NHRA owned track in a great area with many hotels and eating places, Road Atlanta down the road, great shopping for the wives and GFs at Tanger Mall.

That right, MV was already held in Florida. Let’s try somewhere else. <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comhttp://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/ /><st1:State w:st=<st1:place w:st=" /><st1:City w:st="on">Philadelphia</st1:City> is the birth place of <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">America</st1:place></st1:country-region>. We have a great tourist industry. Independence Hall, Betsy Ross House, The Liberty Bell, Museums, <st1:Street w:st="on"><st1:address w:st="on">South Street</st1:address></st1:Street>, just to name a few. For the kids, we have <st1:Street w:st="on"><st1:address w:st="on">Sesame Place</st1:address></st1:Street> and a short drive to the beach. Who won’t want to visit the City of <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Brotherly Love</st1:place></st1:City>?
Hay, I'd even vote for Vages

I'll say just this, It doesn't really matter who pick's up the ball next year and runs with it. The main thing is that everyone get's a chance to go and everyone has a good time. Now just think of this, If Both sites work together and stop cross planning events around the same time frame ,how many Happy Marauder Owners their would be. The World isn't perfect,we all know that, but if we all can work together next time think how Great it could be.
Has to be Central.
Florida was a success because you'd have to be a fool NOT to want to go to Florida!
MV5 in MD is an oversized CAM meet

Atlanta would be a great venue, and as you note, central to a lot of folks, and I think this is important.
The SSM may have the largest contingent of members, but I don't see too many of them here at MV-V. Not knocking the group (they are top notch IMO), just pointing out that MD may be prohibitively far for them to make the trip, which limits their participation. That said, would an MV 6 in Philly yield the same result? Need to host in a location that will draw the largest number of folks.
How about Bristol, Nashville, Charlotte, or maybe back around Indy?

Glenn Glenn's Idea may be the best one. It should be considered .
Drag racing was cool the first 2 years.
I think the majority are over that and just want to meet up with old friends and hang out. Off the race track

See? That whole attitude that the owners of MM.NET "OWN" the Maraudervilles has to STOP RIGHT NOW!
It isn't OWNED by any one person or web forum. It is the congregation of participants who what to meet together! We don't have to submit crap to MM.NET!
We, as a group, in a public forum, hash out the details and then do it. PERIOD!

Ya know John, I for one am tired of your innuendos and constant complaining about how things are run on this site. For future reference keep your opinions to yourself and your "minions". We run this site the best that we can, for the majority of the members, not for your personal enjoyment nor to promote any of your agendas. Sadly, as an owner and a moderator, I don't have the luxury of putting you on the "ignore" list as others have done.
Since TMF has managed to derail another thread. This one is now closed. No more MV6 threads this year please.
