What price should i try to negotiate towards on this car? I have went to see it, bone stock. Lady at the dealership says it came off lease, though the carfax says they brought it at a auction up in PA. Who knows...Thoughts anyone?

Looks like someone tried to rotate the tires...

Dealer did that to my tires when I first bought the car, can't blame them though since it was at a GM dealer, but THIS, coming from a Ford dealer? And, since it is at a Ford dealer, I'm sure you probably couldn't talk them down below $20k.

I would trust Carfax over the dealer.
Check the prices on www.nada.com (http://www.nada.com) and www.kbb.com (http://www.kbb.com).
Average them out, and go from there. I all depends on how bad you want a Blue....

The vehicle was probably turned in by the lessee, in to the dealer "Off lease". The selling dealer, purchased it at auction. Sounds all square to me. Chances are the dealer did their homework before bidding on the car. Best to check yourself anyway.

Sorry I have to disagree, how can any competent person, or MECHANIC feel that it is okay to put smaller tires in pack of a RWD car, or not even notice for that matter.

I say have Roy check that VIN# and my thoughts on the price...21850.00 is too much. Maybe 17500.00-18000.00 at the most. It looks as if it doesn't have alot of stuff. I payed 17000.00 for mins w/ 42K miles...heated seats, and a multi disk changer in the trunk. Time to haggle!!

It's a Blue MM. If you want it, you better buy it before someone snatches it up. $21K is on the high end; but Blues are very hard to find ... especially those still in decent shape. :D

Blues are rare, but the car has some miles on it, and is stock.
I paid $20K for mine two years ago, but it had just under 9,000 miles on the clock when I picked it up.
Try to haggle a bit.
Then again, it IS a BLUE....

wow, i didn't even notice that...i remember at the dealer it seemed like rear was sitting a little low, not even thinking about the staggered tire sizes. I may go back to the dealer next week when i'm off to test drive it and talk some prices...tho i'm bout to go to college and don't really need a higher car note + insurance + down payment...but 1 of 328. what are the odds...

you'd be suprised how long it has been on the lost, judging from the carfax and that it was 2 weeks ago when i first seen it on the lot. im thinkin gas prices probably keeping it on the lot, because its sitting right up front, directly on a busy highway off of the beltway. if i don't get it now, im almost positive i will have to heavily mod my crown vic after i graduate college just to get it off my mind. lol

I love the blue, but I would agree with the other members on the 18k tops. The cost of gas and the fact that people are not buying large cars is a good haggle point. IMHO. I did not want another car payment when I bought my MM, but I have no regrets on the purchase. I don't think you will either if you decide to purchase a MM. I would also see if RoyLPita will run you an oasis report.

Do you know how many people I talk to, that like cars, think the MM is FWD? Most people don't really notice the different size tires unless they look at it for a while anyway. It is a mistake, a very dumb one, but I'm saying for a Ford dealer to do that, they should be shot. Most people think it has a V6 too.

Hey dude thanks for starting this thread. I looked at the car on autotrader.com and was on the fence. I signed finance papers today this is MM #2 for me the first is black and the wife drives it. This ones for me! I'd rather drive a used MM (especially the elusive BLUE ) than drive a new vehicle. As they say cut me i bleed BLUE!

Did someone buy this? It's very close by to where I live and work, if not bought yet and anyone wants me to take a closer look I don't mind.

LOL what idiots. Who is so dumb they would not notice how massively different the tire heights are.
I agree, they won't go below 20, it's a dealer. If you have to pay less, buy from a person, but then you won't have a payment plan.
I was a dumbass -- I went to a dealer, who was higher priced than private party, and I paid cash on the car. If I were less impatient I probably could have saved a few thousand.

That car has been on the lot for a while, i've check autotrader/cars.com almost everyday for the past 4-5 months and i've seen it everytime....You can talk the price down for sure. I was somewhat interested in the car but i prefer beige seats in a blue car

umm, lemme see. the car is very clean in the interior. i would go as far to say that it looks cleaner in the inside than my 05 vic, and i keep it pretty clean. it looks like it was only occupied by a driver. i couldn't really tell the condition of the exterior, but it didn't have any dents or dings of any sort, and under that dirt, im 99.9% sure the car is very clean.
oh yea, the lifetime warranty covers the powertrain only, and you must get all of the sceduled maintenance done at the dealer and they must stamp your service book for the warranty to stay valid. thats from what i understand. there's more info about that on the dealers website. im positive that you will be happy with it. i know i would have.
after really analyzing the situation, i (and my parents, im only 18) that it wouldn't be of best interest for me to get it. i just got some audio work done in my car, most of which cannot be easily reversed. also, i'm starting college in 2 weeks and didnt need the headache of a down payment, registration, trade-in, and everything else. got a free 87 LTD Crown Vic also that im about to make my project car...
i believe im still going to have an itch for a Marauder though. I'll probably see what's available in the next few years, still might make that move. if not, i'll just have to supercharge the vic.:) that'll settle me down a little...

Chuckle chuckle, I would void that warranty pretty quickly.
Enjoy the car!

Did you pm RoyLpita. he told me the Oasis said it already had a 6 year/60k Mile warranty on it. $50 deductible. He said it would be hard to transfer it though.
BTW, wouldn't a 4 year/48,000 start from the original in-service date?
Stranger in the Black Sedan

Yeah it would, so he just bought a few more months of warranty on a car that already had a warranty?? Plus the Ford genuine "extended" ESP warranties subject you to the same discretionary BS that they can void it, plus an inspector has to OK the repair over a certain $$ amount, yada yada. I cancelled mine after finding out how it worked. Plus I had a claim rejected after the dealer had to take apart and reassemble the car without fixing anything, to the tune of $300. I was told not to expect the same no-questions asked, everything is covered type of coverage that the 3/36 had.

No the new warranty picks up after the delivery of the vehicle. This warranty will get me almost to the 100,000mi marker. When i bought my black 03 at the time of the sale i extended to 10 year 100,000 from Ford. This warranty is from Ford and covers all dealerships (ford lincoln mercury) with a $50.00 deductible.

I got the car for $20,000 flatwith the Ford 4year 48,000mi ext.warranty and a free ship.:argue: I haggled and dealt only with the manager since it was an internet sale and the buck stops with him. Since my other MM is just paid for i wanted one for finance.

If you like the price you offer 80% of what they are asking and work your way up to 90% all fees included. + Tax.
If you think it is over priced, you offer less and walk away when they say no.
If it is clean, then it is worth it, if it is worth it to you.
(little i words)
I would pay no more than 20-21K US myself for it.
But then I like red better than blue.
If you can get it for less, all the better.
I picked my DTR up for $25K US. They are very rare up here and mine had 17000 miles on it. It was the same amount I was considering for a couple other vehicles and well worth it for me.
Is the price what you are willing to pay?
If so snap it up before someone else does.
