I already PM'd Reinhart and received an underwhelming one liner response of "Not much". Soooooo, if anyone has specific dyno proven HP gains of Kooks headers, high flow cats, x-pipe and Dynaflow mufflers vs. stock exhaust please advise of the results. I have the aforementioned kit new in boxes (came with car) and I am currently deciding on whether the HP gains (or lack thereof) warrant the changeout.

Thanks gentlemen,

the only way to get bang for your buck on horse power is to do the whole exhaust(from the manifold to the tips) and the intake (the throttle body to the airfilter

I have also only seen general comments in old discussions when I searched.

I do remember in the past there was specific dyno results posted, and there were gains. It has to be here somewhere.....

Are the headers you have ceramic coated?

My car picked up 22hp.

Here's Logan's thread: http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=5053&highlight=kooks+dyno

I'd do it just so it sounds better. I think you'll pick up 10 HP, but a ton more low-midrange torque.

That is not, where you pick up power, with exhaust mods. The gain(s) is/are, at the top of the curve. This has been my experience,

Not true in this case. The increase is across the board.

Thanks for the responses gentlemen, and particularly the link to Logan's old thread. So it looks like anywhere between 22 to 29 HP should be expected. To answer RC's inquiry, Yes my Kooks are ceramic coated.

Thanks,
GT

$65/1hp gain seems steep. Not much bang for buck IMHO.

I believe at the time both DirtyDog and Bruteforce had Kooks, some intake mods and some other mods but that as compared to my bone stock situation on the same dyno the same day might help your assessment. :)

Thanks for the link Blue! I'd like to think I can tap into the 300 hundred pony range then, as I have most of the bolt trinket mods. I's also like to think the full exhaust kit will be on by the 18th car show???
