So I moved this weekend and did an all day driving trek on Monday, drove the 3 ton home and then picked up the Marauder for the drive back 9 hrs of driving....smokie got me 1/2 way through the trip and busted me for front plate obstruction (Bra was on for 3 hrs) and side tint...LAME.. well so much for the stealth look I guess...but I did arrive and get 2 coats of Zaino on for the new town to see :banana2:

shouldn't be using a bra anyway, it's going to scratch the paint. I can't imagine one of these cars without window tint, it just wouldn't look right. Not sure if mine are legal or not... I've been in traffic with tons of cops locally and have never gotten any crap for it though

You've had to have been doing something else, like speeding. Or this LEO was having a bad day and figure'd your car looked "sporty" and see what he could bust you on lol.

Believe it or not, I was going the speed limit (for once)...bra was on for 3 hrs then right off. Tint is Illegal on front 2 windows period in B.C. and it is a long weekend so he had nothing better to to I guess. Might go back on after...I was lucky enought for just a notice in order no fine.

I've heard a rumor here in NY that the state is going to make window tint measurements part of the NYS safety inspection. Puts alittle more pressure on the shops to fail cars with too dark a tint. Best bet tint rears dark, and the front doors much lighter.

Any other New Yorkers hear the same?

He was RCMP, right?

Here in MA the legal limit is 35%. Which kind of sucks because a few shops will barely put 35% tint on since they say new cars have a slight tint to them, so by putting 35% on already tinted windows will barely make the car pass if they check the tint.

When I still lived in the Atlanta area, had a Cobb County cop pull a u-turn, follow me into a parking lot, and block me in to tell me my tint was too dark.:(.

He actually just gave me a warning for the window tint, and then wrote me a ticket for a smoked license plate cover.

Had to go to court. Judge asked "did you take it off?" I said "yes sir". He said "dismissed". Final result, 2 hours wasted in traffic court.:shake:

Kept my tint, moved to Florida the next month. Even though the laws are the same (35% side), everyone here has at least as dark a tint as mine, it seems (20%).

Same here in NS, unless you are of a certain minority group. Then you can have dark tint, no seat belts, whatever. The Cops seem to have given up charging them because they get hit with racial profiling charges in court. So, they seem to have just given up on them.
Never understood it anyway. If the cop is so worried, just yell over the loud speaker to roll down the windows. They love yelling on those things anyway - at least in the states. Never had an RCMP or city cop use the speaker on me in Canada.

When I lived in Texas I bought mine in Oklahoma and it had 17% all the way around and when I tried to get it inspected they put a meter on it at two places and told me it had to be 20%. So now it's 38% on the fronts and the rest is still 17%. I hope when they change the law here I'll make it through inspection.

Mississippi requires a tent of 28%...
real light...
If you have eye problems..cateracts, etc. you can have a darker tint with a doctor's note....
Funny all the people at the tint shop have dark tint....
I must say that if I were a police office... I would not like approaching a car with dark tine...especially at night...
Always roll your windows down when being approached by an officer...they really appreciate it...:D at night turn on interior lights...
Officers will not stop you here for dark tint, but if stopped they will add it to the citation and the fine, I understand, is substaintial...

Would it be possible to order replacement glass with legal black out tinted glass ?

In VT there is no additional tint allowed in front doors...period...easy to comply...just do not do it. See google for all states..

You could I gues in theory buy a second hand set of front glass and replace everytime you get caught and switch after but.....lots of work

Front window tint in Alberta is illegal too.

We don't have front plates.

Were in Surrey do you live?

If you must have tint on the front windows you could just try a lighter tint and with darker rear windows you might get by unnoticed.

I've had 35% on all 4 windows and the rear windshield since April. On some days it looks nice and dark and other days it looks too light.

I've actually got an appt. next week back at the same tint shop in Maryland to get a darker tint put on. I haven't decided if I want to go 22% or 6% "limo" tint
