Ok, guys new to the forum and just bought an '03 Marauder, LOVING IT! First mod on the list is new mufflers, always loved the 40 series Flowmasters on my other hotrods, so this is going to get a pair too! Question is Flow Master doesn't have a direct application number for the MM. With out me having to guess on exhaust size and what ports are off-set and such; does anyone have a correct part number handy? Enough of you guys have installed them, someone has to know which 40 series muffler part number it is exactly, Thanks guys, and by the way I did search for the answer before hand, but couldn't find. Thanks again! -Chris

Actually...I believe we have an offset in/center out

HA! You're right. I was just making sure you MMers were awake to catch my mistake.... lol jk thanks for the catch. Since that is correct, the right part number would be Model: 952447
Think your just going to install a couple of 40 series and drive away happy as a lark. Let me tell you about the drone at 1200 RPM (most of your street use) and you will be begging for relief.:help:
What you need are some Meg's delete tips extended out two inches.
Can be purchased from Innotative Interceptors, a vendor on this site. Ask if you don't believe me. Do this in conjunction with the muffler install and you will be happier for it.

But he is planning on keeping the stock H pipe.
The stock exhaust is 2" at the H pipe, so you will probably need a reducer welded from the 2.25" muffler to the 2" H pipe.
I would never use flowmasters either, the drone really is that bad. They are louder inside the car than out. I want the opposite -- people to hear me but me not having to hear it!

A talented muffler shop should have no problem putting these on the stock sytem. I go to Meineke which is the next town over from me for all of my exhaust work and they really take care of me.

Go with Magnaflows and extend the pipes past the bumper out back... like Pat said.

Since you've got me thinking about other mufflers... what particular magnaflow is everyone using? No point in buying extra stuff for the flowmasters.

I went with these:

Either the 4x9 or 5x8 oval with the center/offset in a 2.5" size.
They can be seen here:

The only extra things you would need with the Flows, AND the Magnaflows if you want the extra sound, would be the non resonated tips that Wes sells.

Mine sounds good with the stock tips. Quiet until you get on it.

Mine Don't---Its loud before and after and feeding of the gas....of course I got different set up--.....but thats the beauty of each owner of our MM--to each his own--and it truely is great to see so many different MM sounds....carry on..BTW--I like your set up---but I will still keep on 'ya to change a few things..

I'm running the BORLA Pro XS which on my 2000 Crown Vic created that done everyone is talking about at 1500-200 RPM.
However, on my MM with the resonated tips, it produces a nice sound at WOT but without the drone when you're not in it :).
Price is the only issue. Even though they are stainless, not sure they were worth the $pend??

So with the Magnaflows, is there a specific style? I've yet to use the Magnaflow brand so i'm willing to go for it this time around....Is there only one primary muffler design? Can I call up my shop and say "hey order a pair of magnaflows for my application"......Do you see what i'm getting at? I guess the model name is what I'm asking for.......

They make a whole bunch of different mufflers and series of mufflers.

I figured as much, just not having any experience with Deltaflows, I don't know what designs are commonly used on our vehicles and produce a quality sound....

I bought these mufflers off a member (Hotrauder) back in early 2006 but never got around to installing them. They are still in the box they arrived in, sitting in my garage, but since I no longer have any Marauders to install them on, I am planning on putting them up for sale.

$75 US + shipping is what I paid, will sell for the same amount. PM or reply if interested, I will open up the box and take photos.

Charger's running great, like any car should. :)
Given me a good opportunity to get back into the car hobby... just came in from tending to a few evening projects that were accumulating on the GTA (most notably, the replacement of one of the factory subwoofers that had dried up... I managed to score a brand new unused replacement, still in original packaging!). Nice to be back into things.

Not sure how to word this question but I am intersted in going with after market mufflers but I sometimes take a 13 hour trip to see the family. What set up will give me that aggresive sound but won't run me out of the car?
