Thanks for the pics..sad I couldn't make either there or to Woodward. I saw alot of your pics with MMs minus driver's headlight.. Does this actually allow the airbox to breathe better? 5 horsepower boost?

Fastmerc was running consistant 14.9's with his headlight in, then we removed and he ran.... 14.9's consistant. Zero improvement

A N/A car with little mods would not be greatly affected by lack of cooler air in temperatures above 90 degrees. This equation changes as the demand for more air and fuel increases. When reading IAT temperatures in the summer (hood down) the air at the MAF was between 160-180 at a stoplight. These temperatures would decrees slowly as cooler air was introduced by moving the car at speed. When removing the headlight I am able to circulated more cool air quickly to the area of the intake where it's most needed.

Mark, been running your pictures all morning, enjoying the heck out of them. saw some faces I have met, some I recognize from other posted pics and some I don't know. Any chance for names with the pics? thanks. I did see Chris and the last flying Wallenda looking good as always, John Kuhn's beautiful Grand Monkey, soon to be a lot faster..look out he will max the potential... .005 Great as usual. You and Pam look great and I was very please to see Charlie "Blue" there. I was really disappointed for him at IV. I knew how badly he wanted to be there. AND Sherman...I want to be Sherman when I grow up. He is just as nice as he is special..ask all of the people he has helped and those who butts he has kicked with his great DTR. I have left some out, just trying to get the flavor I missed this time around. Dennis:2thumbs:

Great pics Merc! Thanks for running a great outfit.
I'll second that. It was my 1st time ever at a real drag strip and I had a great time, even though I was asleep at the light. :shake:
