Does anyone have any pics of their boost gauge install, just got mine in today, its the autometer ultralite. I just need to know where to tie it in from, does it come off of a vacuum line or something from the intake manifold or closer to the supercharger(vortech)? the rest i can handle, i'll probally get rid of the cig lighter and move all the gauge over to the right so the boost gauge is to the far left. Any help would be appreciated.:D

Here you go!

I forget what color sleeve goes on the bulb to make it more stock looking at night. I think I put a blue one on and it does not look right. Not that I spend any time looking at the gauge at night:coolman:

The boost gauge with the Trilogy mounts on the intake manifold. I ran a hard polyethylene line from intake manifold, through the firewall to the gauge in the center pod.
Enjoy the BOOST!

Well far as the Gauge install thats no problem, i need to know where to connect the feed from the engine to the gauge??

Mine is tied into the upper intake vacuum line that goes to the fuel rail pressure sensor. See attached pic. The stock vacuum line come in from the upper left, the boost gauge line comes in from the lower left and the lower right heads off to the bypass valve.

Well i did the install today but i came directly off the intake, at idle i'm at about 20-25in of vac, while cruising its at 0, the when i punch it the boost will run up to about 10psi... well for all you guys with boost gauges does this seem normal:confused:

I'm in vacuum while cruising (cruise control or just maintaining speed on a level road). I don't get into positive pressure unless I'm accelerating. Are you sure your bypass is working? If it wasn't I'd imagine it would probably idle like crap though.

It is very easy, go to the DPFE/EGR pull one of the vacuum hoses off install a T fitting and run that to you Boost Gage.

i'm sure the bypass is working fine, guess now that i got another gauge to watch just wondering if the numbers were normal, no problem with idle or anything noticable, but hey thanks for the help, really appreciate it:D

I verified that I run right at 18 in of vacuum cruising. Off-throttle tc locked decel will pull down 25 in of vacuum. It took about a decent amount of acceleration to maintain the boost gauge at 0 psi for any length of time, so if your at 0 psi just cruising then something doesn't sound right.
I'd rule out a bad gauge or vacuum line leak first. Do you have a mechanical gauge or one with an electric sender? I have a mechanical gauge and I found a leak in the vacuum line at the back of the gauge because I had tightened down the nut too much and semi-crushed / split the line. What was strange was it would still read strong vacuum and boost but kinda skipped around at neutral pressure. I've also seen an air leak effect an electrical sender act the same way.

JD, same numbers I get. I've never tried locked TC deceleration so I've never seen 25 in of vacuum, but The rest of the numbers are the same.
I would Take HwyCruizers advise. Rule out the gauge and sending unit first.

Well today I took another look at the gauge install, tightened down on the ferrel fitting on back of the gauge about a 1/4 turn and I think that solved my wierd boost readings. Now at idle she sits at about 20" of vac, cruising its at anywhere from 18" to 10" of vac and when I punch thats when I see my boost actually soar up:banana2:. Thank for the help everyone, thats what i love about this site.
