My hood refuses to open, after pulling the hood release handle nothing. It won't pop up so I can release the safety release.
I tried pushing down on the hood in the front to re-engage the cable release latch, but no go.
Also another problem has resurfaced that is more of an annoyance, but since I had the front end aligned in May, twice now the steering wheel is off horizontal so to keep the car going in a straight line the wheel has to be tilted about 7 degrees right.
The dealership will correct it no charge, but why does it keep happening when in the previous three years since we bought the car new it never did it.
I should sy that the alignment to Carfixers' specs seems to have corrected the ubiquitous tire wear problem common to the cars.

Once you do get the hood open ( after you've pull the release, try shutting the door hard ... it's usually enough of a jolt to cause it to pop-up ), spray the latch and catch with silicone spray. *Just needs to be lub'ed.

I had the same problem. I now have to reef on it hard and quick and it finally pops.....Hmm that sounds pretty nasty....

MM2004 had the same problem at the annual Ky meet. He ended up fixing it by inserting a thin cloth(t-shirt) under the corner of the hood and lifting the corner and thereby the hood enough to release the safety latch. He then
WD40'd the ****z out of it AND adjusted the hood stops up a bit. That fixed the problem.

Have someone push down on the hood (over the latch) while you pull the hood release lever.

Had the same problem on both cars in my sig.
Pull the handle and drive over a speed bump at normal speed bump speed or the driveway lip and it'll boing up. It only needs a slight nudge. Pull over grab your spraylube and douche it. Problem solved.

Just a suggestion - but are they torquing it as a Grand Marquis, or as a Marauder? The Torque specs are very different because of the Aluminum parts. If they don't HAND torque to the higher MM specs, it will back off. 166 foot pounds.
From the 'Big Red Book', page 204-00-10 :
1. NOTE: Camber adjustment can effect caster and toe settings. If necessary, remove and discard the cam bolt retainer flag.
2. Loosen the cam bolt nut.
3. Rotate the cam bolt to adjust camber.
4. While holding the cam bolt, tighten the nut to 255Mn (166 lb-ft).
5. Recheck the camber, caster and toe, and adjust as needed.
6. NOTE: Caster adjustment can effect camber and toe settings. NOTE: The LH caster bushing may have a centering washer that needs to be removed and discarded prior to adjustment. Loosen the nut and move arm inward to decrease the caster and outward to increase the caster.
7. While holding the arm, tighten the nut to 175 Nm (129 lb-ft).
8. Recheck the camber, caster and toe, and adjust as needed.
