View Full Version : Oil Change & Great Service

I brought my MM into the dealer for it's break-in oil change this morning (1,000 miles). I had asked them to do it at 500 miles, but the service manager told me not to. I know it should have been done, but I figured they're now the ones responsible if something happens.
I really can't say enough about the service dept. at my dealership, though. I explained, in depth, my intended mods for the car. The S/M was just as enthusiastic about them as I was. He even liked the idea of the DR chip! Claimed that it wouldn't void my warranty. He was really into the exhaust modifications as well. He made it a point to speak with me about many items and we even went over the underside of the MM while it was on the lift. I think the real test is going to be when I break something. Will they stay true to their word and fix the MM with no questions asked??? We'll see!

Ryan sounds like you have a good SM on your side.
Go see him every 2.5 to 3K miles for an oil change and keep him in your pocket.

Ryan - Although the SM sounds like a good guy, I wouldn't bank on his statment about the warranty. Talk is cheap and he is telling you what you want to hear. IMHO.

Unfortunately unless your really lucky I've got to agree with JG on this one.
I'd be very careful with the mods unless your really tight with your SM. and even then I don't know if even he could override Ford if it comes to a warranty issue.
My view may be tainted as with my dealer I can't get hardly anything done and up to this opint I've tried to be Mr. Niceguy.
Maybe thats the problem.
Anyway I wish you the best and hope that the info your getting is true. Sure would be nice to get that in writing though.
Good Luck,
Mike

Ryan, Yes be careful of mods! Not thier not worth it, but unless your SM has good conections, you will void your warranty.
I did add flowmasters (stage 2) to mine. While sitting waiting for the work to be dune. Hearing all that noise being dun to her and not wanting to look to see the carnage!!! Then I heard the rack come down and he started her Up. THE BEAST HAS AWOKEN!!!!!!!
But the other stuff from Dennis thats up to you. How long you plan on keeping her, Money for repairs, etc...
I plan on keeping mine for a long time, cant have warrenty forever. So I will do 4:10s and a few other things when the money and time free up.
So I recommend the flows first. Then keep cheecking back with this group of GREAT   of people for input!!!
Have fun and enjoy, Patrick
