View Full Version : My warranty is finally justified.
One month left on the 5yr/60,000 extended and the cooling fan motor goes out on the KB car (on the hottest day of the year of course)
Just ordered it from the dealer, $447
Funny thing is, the motor is in a Mustang shroud and Im gonna be the one who swaps the motors when it comes in.
Then they will hand the warranty ticket to my friend Chris who will make an hours pay for doing absoultely nothing
BTW, I only paid $650 for the warranty 5 years ago.

My Subaru extended warranty came with a money back guarantee if it wasn't used. I opted out of it, as I couldn't see my self ever using it unless it was a major flaw, because of the money back, and if it had such a major flaw it likely would have been a recall. Besides it was a Subaru.
It also was from day one a stepping stone car and I sold it with factory warranty left anyway so it didn't matter.

I don't want to hear ONE word out of your mouth about those of us who have a warranty and are hesitant to mod because of it!:puke:

Your friend Chris has to write up the warranty claim, and run a flag sheet for it. Everyone has to get a piece. ;)

Conisder yourself at least a little lucky. Many other dealers would not even cover your fan montor since it was modified. Hell, some won't cover it just because "other" parts under the hood have been modified. The dealers around me are a pain in the butt. Lucky for me I have both Carfixer and RoyalPita around "just in case."
Trust me, I go to the coolest, mod-friendly dealer on earth

Wow, thats an expensive fan. I'm quessing its not a stock MM fan.:)
Just swapped out my ailing alternator today.
The thing sounded like it had a dying animal init, but it still made good volts.
It was painted black and a big chunk was hacked out of it to clear the Vortech SC pulley for the 8 rib I had on it last year.
The funny thing, they pulled up the warranty claim for the fan I recently swapped out and rolled it all into one because the claims were so close together.
