While washing my engine yesterday, and after 3.5 years of ownership, I noticed that my coil covers are different from side to side. The right coil cover is plain, but the one on the left says "32 Valve Intech V8" on it.
Are they all like that, or do I have a misbuild? It would seem odd to put the one with the logo on it under the intake snorkel where you can't see it anyway. I can't believe that I've never noticed that before.

My '03 is the same...Think all 03 A's come that way... I looked at moving it to the other side, so it could be seen...No can do...they are side specific...

They're all like that. This motor was originally a Mach 1 motor and the Mustang has the intake on the passenger side.

Hmmm, Ridinclean, Frythatrice and I were talking about this at breakfast today. My 03 Black is set up that way too, but it is a pre-decontented 300b (has traction control). I just thought it was a factory error.

Get a K&N cold air intake....then you can see/read the Intech V8 plate/.

My 04 Dont even have the black valve covers or coil covers, ill have to fix that :)
The 03 we checked out did have the 32V badge on only 1 side, so that is normal.

I saw that too, and thought it was kinda cheap to recycle old parts from other cars. I know why they did it, I understand why they did it, but how much would it have really cost to modify one piece of the molds to allow for an insert on each side? just another sign of why they dont get it...
there are plenty of good cover choices out there, it was my first mod.

I actually kind of like that it was left like that. It's something that would happen with a hot-rodded car. Ford took a hipo MACH I motor, and dropped it into a panther. That's really cool, guys! I like the quirky little traces of this being a transplant. Just my 2.

Wouldn't the Intech covers have come off of a Lincoln? The Mach motors were not called Intech were they?

where it would have had a DOHC sticker/badge on a stang, it has an INTECH 32V sticker instead. same cover, different sticker. I like the "Power by Ford" cover I bought from a member. much better...
