Hey John, looking forward to seeing your beast at SSHS7.
As for the $$, actually MM.net is picking up the paypal and eventbrite fees so the full $500 goes to the event.
I anticipate other raffles to come along for additional support, too.

I can't go.;... and I don't have a 'Rauder, but I still bought a ticket for y'all anyway. I expect to see more marauders on the DVD this year. Every who has a marauder should know that attendance is MANDATORY!!!

Yes, I am all registered and paid up, as well.
However, I trust the management through their quality track record to take care of us in some way with this fund raiser. It may be a cooler of drinks, dinner out, breakfast, some promo at the track, shirts, prizes, plaques, who knows, but I trust them! Maybe it's a SURPRISE for us. I'm willing to trust them in order not to ruin the SURPRISE!!!!! Maybe they are simply helping our hosts, GASSIT...

Why is it, that with the current ownership, it is questioned as to what is being spent and where? I do not recall folks asking Logan where raffle money went when he was in charge....

There are still 4 tickets left. When someone starts an order, their selected tickets are pulled out of the total and marked "pending." If that sale is not completed in 20 minutes, the tickets are made available again. Nothing pending at the moment, so just 4 left. Go ahead, TMF.
A few are working behind the scenes to determine the best use of the funds. I have a call into Norm to see how we can help. More to come. Norm did tell John Kuhn that if the winner of the navigation system is going to participate in the Shootout, they will get free entry!!! How about that!!

Wow that sold out fast. These are great kinds of raffles, the cheap ticket price means a low entry fee into the raffle, and that Pioneer unit is a great prize!

I wanted to provide clarification to you about the SSHS7 sponsor and friends list. If you don’t care to read that, skip to the “important stuff” at the bottom.

The purpose of that web page is to acknowledge over the years the people and organizations who have contributed to SSHS7, irregardless if cash was involved.

I was not up on the changes that your community had gone through, simply put I don’t have a lot of information on non-GM or Impala forums, I will fire our communications director, oops; I can’t because it’s me.

I did speak to the generous vendor today responsible for supplying the raffle prize and he will be put on the web page as a Sponsor, I was not aware of this generous act and extended my thanks to him personally, I will fire our sales-marketing team, oops, I can’t it me.

So I think you get the picture, sorry there is just no political intrigue to be had no matter how hard you want to look.

About GASSIT and SSHS’s… This event was put together to be the only one of it’s kind, a venue for Ford, GM, and now Mopar rear wheel big cars to compete together without being awash in FWD , import, or ‘pony’ cars of any type. It started small and has only recently reached a financial break-even point. In fact the blue oval community significantly helped the event survive, and for that I am sincerely grateful. One of your very wise community members boiled it down to a simple statement… The Shootout has been run for too long with the same few people…The good news is folks from several communities are beginning to step up and talking about keeping the event going, I am excited at that prospect and am available to anyone who wants to fill that role.

GASSIT rose out of the ashes out of similar community meltdown that from the posts I have read today seems to have occurred with your community, it was nasty business; it reached critical mass as immovable objects met irresistible forces. The founding GASSIT members have been together almost ten years, we are lifelong friends, we have seen good stuff and not so good stuff together, rescued each other on the side of the road…., it’s the best part of being a car club. But the same group is also been at it too long, it is no secret we are slowing down as real-life issues take away from time devoted to GASSIT. That is why it’s so important to come to SSHS7; it’s the only Shootout I can guarantee to be there for you.

Based on my understanding from John, if the raffle organizers decide to donate to SSHS7, GASSIT will add to the raffle, the winner would get 1 free admission for car and driver, if you have registered already, I will refund the winner his/her entry fee.

If that gathering falls through, we'll just go ahead and pick the winning ticket. One way or the other, we'll have a winner by Saturday. Thanks for your patience!
