Dennis... I have acquired a stock Marauder intake... upper cover/TB piece and the lower...in my quest to smooth airflow I was thinking of an extruded hone/port+polish...then the AccuFab on it...your thoughts guidance and input requested...

Also, some decent guidlines on the care and feeding of our A/W VorTechs...you know...Preventive Maintenance....Planned Maintainence...a routine /regime to follow to keep them running smooth...

... now if I could only get some KDW2's ....

Yes I would have it extrude honed and add a PHP spacer, the big thing on the W/A SC kits is insuring that the after cooler pump is working and run 50/50 AF with water in the reservoir

Hensler did my lower. I hand polished the upper myself.

Sorry, I misspelled in my original post, corrected it.

Hensler Racing 614-353-1844

I posted some pics a long time ago, they may have been lost in one of the software upgrades but I'll try and find them.

I understood PHP does the lowers as well.

I fired off an E-mail to PHP for some more 4-1-1 on it in reference to cost and actual hands on... only because I wanted to understand how it would still cost me 1200 dollars... they extrude hone the lower and hand polish the upper. Still searching and will keep all informed...muchly appreciated on the feedback so far and any and all accepted...

Here's a thread on my ported intake project. Unfortunately the pics are gone. At least now I have a date to look for in my camera's memory card so maybe I can resurrect them.

Cool FordNut .... and thanks for the search... I did get a response back from PHP and without going into depth, I guess I made them mad asking for more info. Didnt mean to so I guess I was asking stupid questions...

The only stupid questions are the ones that aren't asked.

Hensler will answer questions for you, but briefly your options are extrude honing or hand porting. There are two ways of doing the hand porting, one where they cut the manifold and do the porting, converting it to a short-runner, and weld it back together. The other way is what Hensler did to mine, which is to pop the plugs out of the bottom, hand-port from bottom and top, then put new plugs in it.

They didn't do the upper, what I did with it was to have it machined to match the throttle body openings to the larger throttle body I have, then blend those cuts and smooth the remaining surfaces with a sandpaper "flapper-wheel" attached to a drill, then hand-sand the tight spots.

Okay, understanding more on this...thanks again FordNut. I won't be getting as involved as you did. I will put the stock T B back on after the work and then "gather beans" to put the AccuFab T B on...already have the PHP spacer in place so thats all done...
