I know there is at least one more in my city ( I stopped you on West Main in Belleville, for speeding, you know who you are...). I wouldn't mind finding more MM owners to hang out with and shoot the breeze... I'm located in Belleville IL...

That was me! And yes their are a few more in Belleville but none of them are members, that is except you and I. That was the most fun I have ever had being pulled over. I would tell you to PM so that we could meet up but you already have all my information:)

Hey Hacklemerc,
I'm from St. Louis area. A few of us got together last week at St. Louis Mills mall, to talk M's and war stories. We should be planning another get together for next month soon. Stay tuned
Incidently, if you can manage to get away the first week in October, consider taking a trip to Seymour, Indiana for Oktoberfest. Lots of Marauders of all persuasions, lots of running around and just a "jolly good time". Also a chance to get in on a "Marauder" convoy to where
ever, now that is truly a site to behold.
And that run away Marauder you stopped, see if you can hand cuff him and drag him with you. :)

I haven't done any mods other than a K & N cold air kit on my '03 and just a K & N filter for my girls '04 MM. I am interested in doing more mods but am not sure whats out there to do. I have had my MM for about 3 years and my girl has had hers for about a year now. I'll have to get some pics of our cars together and post them.
On a sour note... I just got my MM out of the shop with a new motor. So I come home today an notice an oil spot in the driveway where I usually park. I stop and look under my car... and yeah the new motor is puking oil from somewhere up by the bell housing. So back to the shop she goes. Hopefully its nothing serious and just a loose bolt or something. We'll see.
As for that Oktoberfest thing. That sounds cool. I'll have to try to get off work that weekend.

Hacklemerc, welcome :welcome1: to the MM.Net. You've come to the right place for info on the Marauder. Check out the Timeslips section for the state of the possible. Tune(s), gears, exhaust, forced induction, .... and much more. There about 5 years of resident experience at increasing the performance of the MM. Read on and enjoy !!!
BTW -- what happened to your "old" motor??

One day i noticed it was making a rattling noise and shortly there after it started running like garbage. I took it to the shop and they tore it all apart and decided it had two bearings out on the crank, a handful of bad valves, and a couple of torn up pistons. The warranty people decided that it was not worht repairing and just gave me a new motor free of charge.
I was looking at the new motor and think that its leaking around the rear main seal. It goes back to the shop on Tuesday . I hope they don't keep it as long this time as last time. (2 months)
After looking around I see there are all sorts of things I can do.

Just curious, but what kinda gas were you using around the time of the rattling noise? Mileage on the car/engine when it went south?

I always run 93 octane from either QT or Moto. Every fifth tank I would run a bottle of injector cleaner thru it. Mileage on the motor at the time of death was about 72,000. I was running Valvoline Synthetic oil in it as well.
it was actually funny when I realized it was making all the noise. I was on my way home from work and pulled up next to some hoopty at a stop light and heard all the rattling. The guy driving the hoopty and I exchanged glances, both of us probably thinking the same thing, "man that thing sounds like crap." The light turned green I stepped on thinking I just impressed someone. Then I got home, pulled in the driveway and realized that it wasn't his car that sounded like it was dying, it was mine.

I HATE when that happens!!!!;)

well she went back into the shop today and I'm back driving the loaner car (Ford Taurus). THey looked at the leak while I was there and said that it looks like it is the rear main seal and that when they replaced the motor that was the only thing they didn't replace. No estimated time of having my car back either. Its just not fair.

................. when they replaced the motor that was the only thing they didn't replace. ...........
Odd, if it was a new engine it should have had a new rear main seal.
Did they just rebuild/recondition your original engine instead of replacing it?

It was a completely new engine. I saw the old one when I went to pick up the car the first time. I thought the same thing about the rear main seal. When he said that was the only thing they didn't change, I thought that was a tad wrong. I'm no serious mechanic or anything but I do know enough that replacing the motor would mean a new rear main seal....

Well it didn't take long to get her back. Evidently they did replace the rear main seal when they replaced the motor. THey just didn't seat it correctly. So its "fixed" now. By the way, you guys weren't joking about wanting to mortgage my wife. I'm compiling a list of stuff that I want to do and the price is definately rising. You gotta love it.

If you are thinking Forced induction, make your first mod something like the Trilogy kit, then add from there.

Uh oh, there goes another one!!:banana2:. BTW if you can't do the SuperCharger first mod should be a tuner from one of our vendors.
