2000 Mercury Mountaineer

Does any one know what A/C refrigerant my 2000 Mercury Mountaineer takes? Is it R12 or R134 cause I have to charge up my A/C system and I wanted to do it myself. But if it is R12 I guess I have to take it to get done:cool:

R134. R12, you'd be talking early to mid 90's cars. Hell, my '95 CV even had R134.

Cool so it is R134. I looked in the manual and of course it didnt say what it took. I didnt remember when they made it manditory

It oughta also be on the sticker under your hood near the radiator frame.

The system takes 30oz of R134A.
