Hey all,

I was washing my Black 03 Marauder Sunday and noticed I have small cracks on the hood and roof. Very depressing! I believe its called "crazing" or "crows feet". I have 65000 on the car that went into service on 2002. I have a Ford Extended Warrenty and will approach Ford for a factory fix. However, the Warrenty doesn't cover paint so I don't know how much luck I will have at the dealer. My questions to you all are:
1) what are the possible causes?
2) can I do anyting to stop this condition from getting worse
3) where can I find any information that would help me convince Ford to
help fix the problem?

Any info would be helpful. If anyone in the Seattle area has had to deal with this problem and had any luck with a dealer, please let me know.

Well the 03 models did have paint problems, thats one reason that would convince ford of fixing it for free.

If you do a search you find many threads on the 03 paint issue.

thanks for the info.

Anyone know of any documents that I can take to Ford such as a Service Bulletin or reference some paint work done at any particular dealership?

I've got the problem on the hood. I was told it's because the hood is aluminum. But this was'nt an issue on my CV...

I don't know anything else about the issue...

When I got my car amonth ago or so I asked for the entire history of repairs on the vehicle as it was owned by the dealer big wigs for awhile before I got it. And a paint repair was done to the hood, roof, and trunk lid, they couldn't tell me what was done as it didn't specify but I figured it was something along those lines.......
