Hi All,

I work from home and heard what sounded like my car. I look out my window and see another Marauder pull up in the street. It parks out in front of my home for a minute or so and the driver looks to be writing things down. He did glance at my house/car. My car is parked outside during summer (sorry it is a daily driver and 03 cobra won garage space for summer).

I can't be sure he was writing anything about my car or home, but I live on a quite U shaped street that does not get a lot of side traffic.

Am I just being Paranoid, or maybe he was driving by the main street and saw my car in driveway. Decided to pull down my street and write down my address to send me a letter about buying my car? Who know's?

What do you all think? And no I did not get a plate number or a good view of the driver, but did notice the type of plate, car color and other info.

Keep an eye out, keep nothing of value in the vehicle, and make sure your FULL COVERAGE + GAP Insurance is paid up ;)

Could be a scouting run for old "Midnight Auto Supply"! Maybe a short swap in the garage for a while, just to be safe.

Take the wheels off and leave it on blocks, and turn the fuel pump off. Leave a camera out there also. Then youll know.

Not enough info in your post to make a determination -- only you can do that. You don't say where you are located, what time this happened (day/night), whether you live in a crime-ridden area or one that it relatively crime free, whether you have had similar problems/break-ins in the past, how long the guy was "writing" stuff down -- long enough for a plate number or long enough to write a short story, any visible mods on your MM that might draw attention. Way too many unknowns.

If it was broad daylight, short duration, in a reasonably safe and crime free area ... I suspect it was just another enthusiastic MM owner happy to find another MM owner nearby. Look for posts on MM sightings here or maybe on "the other sites".

Without more specifics, this seems pretty innocent to me and I wouldn't worry about it. However, if you hear that same noise at 2 AM, I'd be worried. :D

U can
1) pull your fuel pump fuse every nite
2) check with the local patrolman about any criminal activity and inform him of your observation
3) put up your NRA sign in a visible place
4) park your car in an odd a way as possible, across the driveway, backend first, etc.

Another Marauder owner was probably just happy to see another Marauder. He was probably waiting for you to come running out and greet him like an old friend.

Cameras are good ideas.

An IP night vision camera or motion sensitive light and camera can capture the thieves stealing your car, or breaking into your house etc...

Make sure you have an IP camera with a net based server storage. Password it and put an old vcr with a tape in it next to the camera. Run a cable from the camera to the vcr and turn the vcr on standby.

If they are someone looking to rob your house they will take the tape with them. If it is someone stealing your car you will have them online and can use it to recover your car. Low Jack is another alternative.

With the IP camera you can also have it email you an alert, if your out.

Look around there is lots of information about this.

If you are really concerned put a few rolls of razor wire around the Marauder. Works great.

Maybe some Marauder owner is acting up, and he is being blamed for it and is checking for other similar cars to give info to authorities.. Happened to me before... Blue crown vic... so I gave the cops a list of 20 others like mine I saw in the same area over the next week or so....

Paranoid, defined: Aware of one's surroundings. Be paranoid, be very paranoid.

Thanks for all the tips. I like the wheels pulled off and car on stands. LOL I could dig up an old back seat and put it in the front yard next to my dogs.

Just for more info: We live in a very low crime area. One of the reasons we live here. It was in the middle of the day and enough time to write a paragraph. So it wasn't a drive by for the plate only or night stalking for parts run.

I should open a new post on Insurance for our cars. Wondering if everyone does appraised value or the standard insurance recommened by agent. I'll do a search here before posting.

Again thanks for all the responses.

Do you have wheel locks?

Thought crossed my mind as well. Will have them by end of day. Knew that gift card I got would come in handy.

Is your car for sale or was recently for sale?? One night I had a crown vic pull up behind my car and sat there for a little while, after 15 mintues he drove away. I was also paranoid and quickly took down his plate and a description of the vehicle.
Later that night through his plate I knew where he lived and was ready to head over there if my car was tampered with.
Nothing happened.

Its possible you have something done to your car that he wants to do to his, or its even possible that hes a member on this forum or the other and started a thread asking who you are.

Car is/was not for sale, owned it for the past couple years. Does have a spoiler and blacked out badges, but that is about it. I'm sure it is nothing but will keep an eye out.

Do you have a good security system. A tracking system such as LoJack is the best type IMO.
