I am getting a Line Lock installed, the Hurst to be exact. How much should I expect to pay to have JUST the lines installed. I will mount the LL and do all of the wiring.

I just finished installing three L/L hardware setup, and I didn't have to cut any tubing. I just needed a tubing bender. I'm at work right now, so I can explain how a little later this evening if you're interested.

Carfixer has wiring in his gallery for the 'simple' version. Here is the wiring for the complicated light up way I built up off his.

And yes, Eddie, it's the corrected way!!!

You can do this one yourself, Steve. We did 3 in one day.

I assume you mean 'kit'. I have no problem sending you the electrics if Eddie wants to send you the lines.

What is linelock

Locks the brakes on the front wheels so you can burnout without killing your back brakes.

:D

It is the lines I am MOST concerned with...NOT the wiring. Just something about introducing air into the ABS System :dunno:

And sure! Hook me up!

Nice set-up. Looks really good! Nice install. Hey Kill, this would be pretty easy to do yourself. Interesting. Hmmmm. Now I may have to waste more money. LOL

Doesnt matter you will have to bleed the brakes to make it work.

Line Loks are great at the strip to warm up those DRs. I bought the Hurst unit with the pumping line kit. It was installed by Team Toyland. The LLs really save on the rear brakes.

These parts are easy to get at neighborhood parts store. they consist of 2 BLE- 12' & 6" lines. I found out that there are 3 types of metric lines, British, Asian, and what I used, European styles. The other parts are the 2 NPT 3/16 female - 1/8 Male adapters, and a metric brake line union (which I go out of the Mustang adapter kit.... The Only Part of The Kit I Used) I believe a 3/16 NPT union would work just as well with a little customizing, just like what has to be done to the 2 previously mentioned adapters.

Crude drawing.....

HELP! I've printed out your picture and we've got everything wired to what we THINK you've got but it doesn't seem right. Does the BLUE off the relay go to power? Is it the same as the point that goes to RED? Seems to me these are the same?

Can you call my cell at 319-610-4999? We've got ProRauder here in the shop and are stuck.

Thanks!

JohnThe way this setup is wired the blue is the input voltage, and by default the switch passes this through to 87A which is to the Cig lighter. When activated it switches power to the yellow wire connected to the solenoid.
At the moment this circut is not 100%, because it somehow puts 6VDC at the cruise off botton, which leaves the led in the switch always on (activated or not) and blows the Armed LED when the solenoid is activated.

Suffice to say we did NOT use the picture above.

No offense Rich, but you got carried away using Microsoft Visio or something because you could. Also, after reading the info in the side columns, it appears that it tries to control when the cigar lighter has power and I use mine so that would not work.

Where we got confused:

1. On the diagram, what is with all the white wavy paper looking things? The page needs a Ledger just to decipher what everything is.

2. Why is there anything connected to 87A at all?

3. There is a teal colored line running off the left side of the diagram labeled "from car". Where? The radiator? The front left tire? A fuse that wants to be on Jeopardy?

I'm sure you have this working and the logic is based on something. It just seems that either the picture needed simplified or there needed to be better instructions.

My revised diagram description:

Using an LED switch, I wired to Ground, a switched +12 for power and the ON Lead to post 86 on the Bosch relay.

I followed the original diagram to tap the Cruise OFF button. The LED is wired with the negative to the Off Button and the Positive to relay post 85. (that much is the same)

On the relay, Post 87 goes to switched +12v at the fuse panel and post 30 runs to the +12 side of the LineLoc.

The LineLoc is then grounded on the remaining black wire.

I did not use relay post 87A to manage anything.

I'm curious if your armed LED survives the CKT power surge?

The best wiring set-up on Line Lok is from Car-Fixer. There is an on-off switch and the Line Lok activiation switch is the cruise control button on the steering wheel. Use Search to find the wiring diagram. This is a very nice set-up. Line Loks are great to use at the track.
