This is my 2004 Mercury Marauder. I am the original owner. Limited Edition - only available in 2003-2004. Modifications - SCT tune, Denso plugs, 180 stat, Ford Motorsport 4.10 rear gear - all done by Reinhart Automotive in Orange Park, Florida, USA. 330 hp. Top speed 165mph and I mean it. Beat my Father's 2006 Porsche Carrera. Enough said. Not for sale. The Florida Highway Patrol has 37 of these...330hp and a top speed of 165mph? Just with tune, plugs, stat and gears? OKAY :lol:

Besides top speed runs we also had 1/8 and 1/4 mile drag racing which ended with the local PD showing up after a massive burnout made people think there was a fire in the area.

I finally did a top speed run after the tune (which removes speed limiter) the other night. I ran into squid, and had to let off the pedal at 136. I had a feeling I could have gone to 145-150 (burying the factory gage) but I'm skeptical of the 165... And it was getting slow (and taking a LOT of track) to get there.

First of all, how can we tell, by RPM? Secondly, what are you N/A folks getting for top-end numbers on your cars?

With 4.10 gears, I was on the very top end of 3rd gear pushing about 125MPH, then I shifted into O/D and it was a very slow climb up to my highest top speed to date of a 138mph. I ran flat out on a old airport runway and it took just about all of 7500 ft to get up to 138mph. Thats why a claim of 165mph is very hard to believe. Even with 3.55 gears I dont see the car getting over 150mph and with 4.10's I dont think its possible to break 145mph.

mine has only a K&N intake, maybe a tune idk... mine was feeling slow and taking up too much highway at 125mph... not too slow just noticable compared to getting up there.

Wasn't a track, We had access to a abandoned airstrip in Long Island with 7800 ft in length and about 75ft of width. Plenty of room to see what our cars are made of.

I know of a member with a N/A 300a with bolt on mods that was still pulling at 145,, trying to catch up with a Vortech. He never did!!
