Just pull off the panel, starting on the right side with the door open and look for yourself...it is all friction catches.. the clock was about 2 inches long and 1 inch high and 1 inch deep....

Don't know for sure but IMO FMC would not fill the space.

If I remember correctly, when Ive taken mine apart, its only about as wide as the original clocks they had stuck in there in 03s. Would not be able to mount an AVIC in there..

Yes the hole is still there weather or not you have the dash clock and as stated above it is about the same size as the clock itself.

Sounds like it is easy to remove, anyone know how much a wood grain replacement peice would cost?

As for the space, it sounds too small for what I was hoping for but might make a good iPod dock space.

And if not DBP then how about Black or is it Indigo?

Just go look at any Grand Marquis GS or LS...they have the woodgrain dash pieces. The part numbers are in the FAQ.
