Awhile ago I bought front springs from Eibach, I'am interested in feed back from anyone who has them already on there car, stuff like how much did they lower the car?, did handling improve?, etc. Thanks

Throw them away.
You will be sorry if you install them. They make the car look awesome, at the price of bouncing all over the road.

Do what Zack said. There are some member's on here with I think one coil cut off front's and it works great.

I have them and and actually like them. They do ride rougher but that is expected when you lower a car usaully. They make the car look great though. You can see some pics in my gallery pics. The rear is really easy to do. took me five minutes. I have never riddin in a car with the coils cut so I cant really compare the two. But I like mine.

Initially, I cut the springs on my Sport during the installation of new shocks. Terrible mistake! Although it lowered the car (~1" in the front) and allowed me to drop the rear, it really softened up the ride. Mind you that was with Police Interceptor shocks up front as well (CVS and MM shocks were on backorder around here at that time.). It did increase the handling with the lower center of gravity and the PI shocks however. It just wasn't what I was looking for.

Bought the Eibachs and have been extraordinarily pleased with them. It dropped the front another half inch (~27" to fender lip w/235/50-18's KDWS) and really firmed the front up. The camber adjustment isn't broad enough to bring it near Carfixer's specs. I had to do a little grinding on the chassis to bring the camber to where I wanted it. The Sport's tires are the same front and rear, therefore I set my camber at -.70* for handling purposes. This is my daily driver (20,000 miles a year) and originally was about as stiff as an MM. I don't ever get complaints about how stiff the ride is, only compliments on how nicely it rides from those that drive FWD "luxury" econoboxes. I heard the stories about them "hardening-up" with time. Bunk! That goes against the grain of science. Ever had a shock lock-up? I have and I can't believe any metal (spring) becomes less elastic with time.

Please keep in mind we don't have tremendously nasty, pothole covered roads like the North. Three local members have driven or ridden in it extensively - marauderboi, DJV5150, and Hotrauder. Maybe one of them will chime in. QA1's were not in my budget at the time, therfore I made do with what resources I had (Prototypical MM owner!). The 8 or 10 hours I'll be working out of that car today will be most enjoyable. And yes, it would eat your Marauder on a slalom! [Door opens for a lashing!!!]

Best luck,

J

The ride is far stiffer than normal, however the car does not "bounce" on the road.

If I had to do it again, I am on the fence, but indeed, I miss the smooth ride at times.

I miss the smooth ride of the stock springs but the eibachs definitly helped my autox times.

I cut the fronts and did Monroe CVPI Heavy Duty shocks. It is smooth, tight, predictable and very comfortable. The ride is not harsh at all. It is tight, but not bouncy or rigid.

I consulted several who are happy with cut fronts on stock shocks. Mine were blown, so I HAD to get new ones. I'm pleased with the setup.

The ONLY thing I feel I lack to the Naake setup after driving Naake cars, is adjustability, but if it's good, who needs to adjust?!

Don't throw them out, they work good and look great. The trick is buy new heavy duty shocks and it won't have that "rice grinder" bounce. I did and its great, plus some of the roads in my area suck so I am picky!

I have often wondered why there are such a range of results with cuts and eibachs. Sure, some of it is subjective. But I think (now that I've heard a second) the answer is a new shock along with the spring, regardless of if cut or eibach.

Good thread to watch for me. I won a set of Eibach Springs from the MV V raffle. My car is fine the way it is now. But I am going to hold onto the springs for awhile. Hey, J next time we are together I want a ride in your blue to check them out. I had Eibach's in both of my previous two Mustangs and loved the lower ride and the way the cars handled. If they work the same in our Marauder they will be going in.
