I think I know what you mean. I was up in Cape Cod with some other members here on the .net this past weekend at a mixed breed car show (ran the whole spectrum, from a Rolls Royce to a 1980 Ford Pickup with very low orig miles to straight 60's muscle cars to a Supra to the usual attending Mustangs/Camaros/etc).

We pulled in as a group (eventually 6 Marauders with only DTR being the only color missing) and got some heads turning and some curiousity peaked. But what caught me was the enthusiastic phone call some guy was making as he was staring at the 4 blacks lined up.

"Dude, there are like 8 Mercury Marauders here!!!" he was saying to the person on the other end. Turns out his friend has a modded GM and would most likely have loved to see the Marauders in person. I had to smile to myself (yep, pride) over that.

In a parking lot FULL of true blood/sweat/tears restored hot rods and other unique vehicles, it was nice to see somebody getting such an unsolicited high out of these big, late model, taxi cabs from hell (or whatever the general perception might be) that otherwise wouldn't even be invited to show.

I'm not saying these cars are going to end up in the Smithsonian someday, but some of us do get it (and it works for me), and others will never have a clue...
