I think the Marauder red will be darker. At the Ford fleet site they call it "Dark Toreador Red" for 2004. The red on that CVPI is Toreador red on the SUV-Truck line it was called Medium Toreador red, very close to replacement color Matador red (2003).
Ford used a Dark Toreador red back around '97 I think, it was available on the F-Series pickups, maybe other vehicles too.
Toreadors, Matadors...what's next Bull red?

I think the color may be closer to a deep maroon. I remeber seeing the F series and Expeditions in that nice deep red.

I had a 96 Bronco in Toreodor Red which looks like the pic. I loved the color. I think it reappeared as Lazer red. Anyway, in 96, there was also a dark Toreodor Red which was maroon-like. If you want to see what it looks like, try going to an autosupply store and picking up a touch up bottle of dark toreodor red. It may be the same as the new color.

The red will sharp! I am thinking of trading my Black '03 for a red!

Tordeador Red is Toreador red. Marauder's red is indeed Toreador red. How bright it appears is directly proportional to how much sunlight is bouncing off it at the time...
I agree with amerikan, Marauder = black.
The 2 pics in this thread for the red are way to bright. Unless it is like a dark cherry red, like the '96 Chevy Impala SS, black is the only way to go.

Yea, I do agree. The whole theme behind my MM is EVIL! Black or other seriously dark and gloomy colors are the only way it can stay EVIL. One of my co-workers saw my car for the first time yesterday and stated, "Man... that thing looks scary. I don't think I'd let my kids go near that thing." Another asked if I was Satan's chauffeur. I wouldn't want to pull up in a red marauder and have some guy ask if I was Cupid's driver for the evening (or the easter bunny for that matter)!

Hey Dan!
Last year at Nashua meet was the first time I saw a privately owned Marauder, it was yours, lol hows it treating you? I saw real 64 badges on an ebay auction tonight browsing thru that resemble your signature, might wanna jump on that deal, its only about $25 american, lol

Hey Jim!
Your Marauder was the first one I've driven in since they came out, all the way to and from the NYLI meet... how's it treating you, LOL... good I hope but please don't trade it for a yellow one! I've driven my car in NYC and some smartass threw his index finger in the air waving me as if I were a cab... I flipped him another finger to settle the confusion, but seriously, red is good, yellow = bad! ;)

Hi Russ,
The MM has 5800 miles on it, so far so good, had the SSB 16428 flash done. Other than that it's unchanged since you saw it. I'm thinking of putting vinyl decals on the small rear door windows, don't want to put anything on the body.
I think I'm medium toreador red...went to Loudon NASCAR race sunday.
Regards,
- Dan
