The other weekend while still doing landscaping work (finally 50% done lol) I walked past my car and saw something move on my mirror. Didn't really pay attention to it until I walked past it again and saw it was a baby praying mantis just chilling on my mirror watching me lol. Come to find out their was a nest in one of the trees I was trimming which thankful I was finished with so I guess I bothered them a little bit.

I was at the BK in manassas one night and a full Grown one was hanging out on the hood of my MM...I didnt mind to much as it kept anyone from going within two feet of my car much less trying to lean against it(people that go there at night have no manners) as they were all scared

I have no experience with Praying Mantis on the MM; but I did watch some interesting Dragonflies diving bombing my hood. I had just finished a hand wash, a coat of Meguiar's NXT Techwax and finished with a topper of Turtle Wax ICE. Sure seemed to me that two Dragonflies were interested in the hotties down deep in my hood and kept trying to coax them out. It lasted for about 15 minutes of left to right diving ... then right to left diving. They were sure persistent in their efforts to get a little action. Now that is a real shine. :D

I think that he is a HER and she's looking straight at Chris. Uh Oh. You do know that the female Praying Mantis rips the head off the male and eats it after mating. :( Sure kills the moment. The male gets the headache afterwards.............

We caught one last year, and kept her (the girls are bigger) my son got her crickets, she was not shy, it would grab the cricket and start at the body and eat all the way to the top . Made me want to puke:puke: Very wicked bug. Dont go into the woods!!

I love mantises....good pics! It's amazing how scared some people get of them though...last year we were eating dinner at Cook Out (local fast food type place w/outdoor seating) and there was a big green mantis that showed up at our table. After he got bored of us he went and sat on top of the trash can, and there were several folks who got all flustered and dropped their trays when they noticed the mantis up there....

Yeah...That was funny!
The two dragonflies were flying around together while mating/attached at the abdomens.
They were flying kinda slow and erratic when Chris and I noticed that only ONE of them was actually moving it's wings!....The one on top was NOT moving it's wings AT ALL...it was just hanging on for the ride!
