Last time I looked (in this post) you are a vendor selling a new retail product. That's not the same as member to member selling take offs and unneeded parts. It would be different (and I would have no objection) if you were selling a used one pulled from your own car. I'm just wondering why you felt the need to post in the peer-to-peer "classifieds" when you have a forum all your own.

Scott - when we were using the separate Classified Section, there was a section called Supporting Vendor Advertisements & Specials (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/classifieds/showcat.php?cat=19). Since the Membership expressed interest in abandoning that format and using a Forum format that would show up in New and Today's Posts, the Classifieds were simplified into five categories. I don't recall any discussions about exclusive peer-to-peer use. There are Members selling new items too. I don't see a problem here. The idea of the Forum format was to keep it simple and fresh.

Last I checked, no one has to be a vendor to post in here. That's the purpose of it, isn't it? So members can list items and cars they are selling without becoming a vendor?
Maybe you are insinuating Vendors here are a little higher importance than non-vendors.

Way back when, the original push for supporting vendors was to give them their own forum and platform to sell their wares, keeping it out of 'regular' forums, and of course also provide some financial support for the privilege.

Member classifieds was originally set up as a convenience for member to member, non vendor, sale of items.

Yes actually i read the whole thread including the nifty little tidbits about what the passport does, did you read your post and realize how you reacted over Dennis trying to help us members out? Even if I was showing my ass(which i don't believe i was, maybe we should make a poll to find out for sure?) you showed yours first and for unfound reasons. Did you read my post at all? Did you bother to stop and ask your self how your argument has any meaning in your day or if it was just trivial drama and stress that you could just eliminate from your life? It seems you two are the only ones on this entire board with a problem. Everyone else seems to appreciate Dennis' generosity. Life's to short to let stuff like this ruin a day, seriously what did you gain from this? How has any of this benefitted you in any way?
