Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know you're going to say "just open the drivers side front door and look on the sticker on the body side of the door jam" Unfortunately, for whatever reason, I do not have a sticker there. There is evidence of previous stickiness in the general area, but no sticker. Do all 2003 300a's have the same code? I've heard different things.
Is there any other spots in the car that the sticker should be located? Do I need to go to the Lincoln/ Mercury Dealer to have them plug in and check?
Hopefully someone can verify that all 300a's have the same code and I can stop worrying about this. Thanks, Ryan

Gonna guess BMDO. Since its a 300a and an 03.

Here's a breakout of PCM code distribution. Early 300a's had either FDH2 or BMD0 as I recall. 03 300Bs started the CRD0 series.

Well, that answered one question, not all 300a's are the same. Now I need to find out how to locate my EEC code.

You did look on the computer itself, right? Under the drivers side dash, left side, against firewall, 3X7" box should have a white sticker with the code (nothing else on sticker) Maybe sticker is in the owners manual.

Yea, agreed with Pat. You should see the big silver box under the steering column, and there should be a white sticker with the EEC code.

Actually, I did not! Thank you. You see, sometimes its the easy answers that help the most. I will check that at work in the morning.

You could find the label on the actual PCM underneath the dash.
Then again, that label may not be accurate. My car was also missing the door label and I found the label on the PCM and it said BMDO. When I read the PCM code with my Sniper Tuner, it came up with JHM1. What a surprise!

The most accurate way to find your computer code is to use an Xcal or Sniper flash device to read it through the diagnostic port.

I just rec'd my xcal2 the other day, but was waiting till I put the UDPs, 180 tstat, and water pump in this weekend before I hooked up the xcal2. Can I just plug it in and read the code without doing anything else? How would I do that?

Call Carfixer or RoyLPita and ask them to run your Vin. You shoud be able to get your code that way.

I gave you an email stating what your PCM code could be by your VIN. You will have to access the black panel under the driver's side dash to see what code is on the PCM.

I will check the pcm box, but this statement makes me think I should use my xcal2 to check. Can I just plug it in and it will read what my eec is?

When I ordered my Xcal2 I was asked what my engine code was to get the right tune.

I just spoke with DR and he told me that all he needed to know was 2003 300a, and that all the pcm codes within that production range are compatible. When I plugged in the xcal2 it said the strategy was RZAO1B2? I couldn't find any cross reference for that to translate it into the pcm code. Oh well, I'll be installing the tune this weekend (along with EMP water pump, 180 t-stat, UDPs, and colder plugs) So, I should have a good improvement to report back!! Thanks for your help, Ryan

Remember to put on some anti-seeze on the spark plugs and don't over tighten them. Are you going to install the GM-COPC also? When I changed mine and pulled off the old coil plug connectors they stretched right out and became slinkies lol

I don't think so?? I will be in the presence of true greatness, assisting me with this project. The GM-COPC did not come up, what is that again? Coil-over something?
