I've got myself the Pioneer AVIC-S2 GPS.
I'd like to mount it just below the stereo (above the climate control) in the middle. The dashboard mounting disk doesn't look like it will hold to the center of the dash as everything is rounded in the MM. In fact there are few flat surfaces. The window mount is out of the question as it creates serious blind spots.
Anyone else have something similar mounted? If so where and what did you use to mount your device? Thanks.

I have the AVIC-S1, and use the windshield mount as low as possible on the windshield, roughly in the center. Right at the top of the dash level. Wife does the same thing in her stang. I assume the S2 is similar in shape...why not use some industrial Velcro to mount ti wherever you like? They are not terribly heavy.
The gooseneck on the windshield mount is very stiff, you pretty much have to unmount it, bend the gooseneck with both hands, then remount to see if you like the position. Keep repeating until you get it the way you want it.

Try these places.

I went with this: http://www.pro-fit-intl.com/Adobe/MR-51-95.pdf
Then you can mount anything you want to it.

I've since switched GPS units but you get the general idea.

Sweet. Thanks, I was hoping for something a little easier and less disruptive. I have a thing about removing panels or making new holes in my car.:depress: Are you able to buy those products in any stores or did you have to order it?
ckadiddle - I don't suppose you have a photo? I've tried and it just doesn't seem to work out for me. My wife has a Focus and its windsheild is perfect. its deep enough to set with out creating a blind spot. These CVs/GMs/MMs have such a tall and shallow dash.:shake:

oh one other thing fastblkmerc - Whats that in the middle? Sat radio? How is that mounted? That's where I'd like to stick it.
BTW - I did pick up adhisive velcro but they warn they are permenent and may cause damage if removed. I'd like something that I can remove later if required.

I will try and take a photo for you. The wife has been using Nina (the GPS)all week. She named it after the Nina character on 24. Kind of good, but bossy and a bit evil.

I ordered mine from the website. Sometimes they show up on eBay. The center trim is very easy to remove as it just snaps in place. The mount is only attached with two screws that are behind the trim panel.

That is an Omnifi. I replaced my factory 6-CD changer with a 60GB Omnifi (music keg). Here are the pics.

It's mounted to the trim panel with screws.
Here is the same thing mounted in my daughters RX8

Got the skull (cup/can holder) at Autozone in accessories section. Here, you have to keep checking back, cause they only get one or two in at a time, and they go extremely fast.
So far this one hasn't caused any bad luck with the car. Put a skull shift knob in the truck and all kinds of issues starting occurring. Stopped when i changed it over to a cobra head. Started back up soon as i put it back. Passed that skull on to another guy. Haven't heard from him since.
