I have removed my rear rotors to free them up and clean things up, no problem.

I find I need to push the caliper piston back in, but am using more force than I feel neccessary to compress it back in. What gives? Are these threaded?

Sorry for a potentially dumb question....

Not threaded and it does take a lot of force>

I always use a large C-Clamp and a piece of 1x3. Never had any issues.....

:dunno:

That's what I thought. I just don't want to force something that shouldn't be forced.

I'll get out there and start cranking away.

By the way. Rear rotors "POP" right off while applying pressure from a Gear Puller and heating the rotor hat with OXY/ACETYLENE. Piece of cake.

Um, yeah...

Not friggin' budging.

I have done brakes about 300 times in my life. This reminds me when I tried to compress a threaded piston.

Why Am I stuck?

I even lossened the bleeder in an attempt to relieve the pressure, to no avail....

Are you using a Clamp, or your hand?

You should REALLY use a clamp.

And now that you popped the Bleeder.... you SHOULD bleed your brakes ;)

I am using a clamp.

Guess what I found...

The Piston is broken. Pulled on it and it came out. Fractured clean through.

When you look for an new one ask for a Grand Marquis or Crown Vic, there prolly won't be any for a Marauder.
