Gettin close to being done messin with the car I think. Maybe I'll get some shorty headers sometime or sometime... either way on to the numbers

11psi
440whp @ 6250RPM http://www.motorcitymarauders.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif
380ft/lbs (SAE)
10.5 A/F http://www.motorcitymarauders.com/forums/images/smilies/laugh.gif Basically I need to lean it out... ALOT but I knew that. I never stopped makin power, I had thought about moving my red line to 7K and I think I will now.
I feel good about the numbers especially seeing as I'm drowning the car in fuel right now, and I could put another couple degrees of timming into it. Not bad for 11psi... maybe I'll try 15 again once I learn to launch it as it is... Maybe one day I'll take of these stock manifolds too http://www.motorcitymarauders.com/forums/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Engine isn't even trying right now... and I like that... I need to not start throwing power at this thing until I graduate and can actually rebuild it if it breaks again:lol:

Looking good! If it were me I would up the boost and lower the rev limiter. Why spin to 7000 if you can make good power at 6000 rpm. I gust think there is less likelyhood at going kablowy at 6000rpm than 7000rpm.

just my two cents worth.

basically becasue this is a 4V and reving is what they are meant to do... I never stopped making boost or power... it never even planed off, it was a constant rise all the way until I let off. If we really do have the heads from the 03/04 Mach1/Cobra then 7K is not a problem seeing as the Cobra redlie is 7 or 7.5K. My bottom end is built to handle alot more RPM than even that.

Power will probably start to drop off above 6500 anyway. Mine did, and it is built to the gills too.

hmmm interwesting indeed. you kept making boost and you fell off power wise? was this with the 476hp engine or the 660hp?

Those are some good numbers, but with how built your car is i'd be expecting more :)

I saw your video online of you running a 12 second run, wow that car sounds awesome!

Keep it up! :D

I agree with Fordnut w/RPM. Go to a smaller blower pulley, up your boost and look at 6500 RPM shift points with some more timing. That will give you considerable power. You may have to move up to 60 lb injectors.

That is so crazy...your torque numbers I mean. You definately need to improve those somehow.

The HP numbers are fabulous. Make me envious.

I won't mention my diving hp numbers as a result of forged internals just yet, but my torque numbers are near 500.

I don't think I want more torque, I'm not getting DRs any time soon, and I have a hard enough time hookin it as it is :mad2: I had a 14 psi pulley on for a little while, and it made 430ft/lbs with only like 14degrees of timing and I couldn't drive the dang thing as well... so I'm not interested in making monster power until I have money for sweet tires. I haven't really even tuned the car yet, my club here at MSU was having a dyno day so I went to support the cause.

I will take that 6500PRM into consideration... maybe in the next couple weeks I'll raise the RPM to 6500, add some timing and actually lean out the A/F from that 10.5... granted it's good for my nerves but it's way too much fuel :puke:.
Will be interesting to see what happens with those two or three adjustments

Stock manifolds? Built motor? Blower?
Welcome to the stone age.

Both motors.

My Vortech made kept making power past 7k on a dyno.

With your set up, long tubes should be under serious consideration. More torque? I would not worry about it. Hard enough to keep the tires hooked even with drag radials.

I think somewhere around 6500 rpm's would be an ideal area to shift, I agree your engine should handle the 7k, not sure your tranny would. Maybe I don't quite understand your set-up but 14 degrees of timing does not seem conservative to me for 93 octane, I run 13 degrees and I think I'm one bad tank of gas away from "BOOM".

Your inlet temps may be much lower than mine so maybe that's the difference, my car's hp curve is on the rise at 6300 rpms but I don't dyno any higher since I don't shift any higher don't see the point. Something you might want to consider are shorty headers, they breath better than stock and cost much less than long tube.

Stone age maybe, modding is only as advanced as the depth of you pockets, I'm sticking with spending not too much money... seeing as I don't really even need more power unless I can use it :P

And Yes Smokie my trans will take it that has been built as well, and yeah my IAT temps are ALOT lower than they would be with a roots.

I would love long tubes, I had my first year of law school paid for so I used my extra money saving for this year... at 1031 a credit hour 16 credits and ABA regulations against working more than 20 hours when at school full time the mod jar is looking a little neglected :bigcry:

Like I say I'll do the free things first... lean out the tune and raise the shift points. I'll go with 6500 for now. Long tubes are on the list and DRs... then maybe down to the smaller pulley again... but for now these are dreams!!!!
