View Full Version : Non-Marauder Electrical Question

I have a 1998 Chevy Malibu daily driver.

A few weeks agao, the battery went dead and I jumped it. After that the radio would not work. It was NOT because of the GM "Theft Lock" feature. All fuses checked out good, so I bought a new radio from e-bay and swapped it in. The radio still does not work. It does not appear to be getting any power at all because it does not even come up that the theft lock is armed (except for the background lighting in it).

Any thoughts?

Am I missing something here?

I am not sure about the wiring diagram for the malibu, but check ground and power on the radio harness. I suspect that it is a bad or missing ground, or the fuse is looks good and passes the 1.5v check of a continuity tester, but is broken. Good Luck

Hey Marty, if worse comes to worse, I'll meet up with you to yake a look at it. I'm leaving for San Diego Friday AM and will be back Wednesday night next week. I'll be off for the rest of next week.
