Well this is the first time I've ever got the chance to let my baby sit for the winter...getting ready to detail and clean..BUT I've stored boats but never cars..so any tips and suggestions..Coolant was just flushed, tranny flushed...so fuel stabilizer? Full tank, empty tank...going to put winter rims on anyways (time to clean oem's) any other suggestions...it's garage kept but not heated...so I heat it or plug her in?
Thanx

Be sure tires are full 38 psi (if not putting on blocks), sheet of heavy mil plastic between concrete and car (vapour barrier), fresh coat of wax, nice soft car cover.
Ensure all objects that "Murphy" can drop on it are properly secured.
I always get a couple bars of "Irish Spring" soap, cut them into 8ths and place them in peices of the boxes they come in, distributed throughout the interior, trunk and engine bay (close to wires, mice seem to love wire insulation???) Works like moth balls, but smells a heck of a lot better in the Spring time...
You could put her up on blocks, but for only 5 months, won't make a difference.
I am getting ready to put up my 65 Thunderbird. I keep saying I am gonna' rebuild the poor old 485,000 mile 390, but it just keeps runnning.... Maybe next Winter.
Now, what the Marauder has that the T-Bird doesnt, is a constand draw on the battery. You should either disconnect the battery, put on a trickle charger, or run the car 20 minutes (bring to normal op temp) every other week. You don't want to wipe out your battery. My chicken can sit two years and still turn over, as there is zero draw from any elecrical components.
Have fun you lucky duck!

Good time to bring this up since I will actually get to park the Marauder for this winter.
I plan on the following for sure:
- Full tank of gas with Stabil
- Double check air pressure in tires again and make sure at 38-40 (like the normally are)
- run extension cord to plug in Battery Tender Jr. that I have
- Fresh oil change before she gets parked
I would love to cover her, but the it gets parked in the garage can not get to the passenger side at all to put a cover on. Too bad, too, since the garage door always drops water on the hood when it is put up after a rain.

So... why not put the cover "mostly" on, park and pull???
S'what I do....
I used to store '78 T-bird and be able to put an 89 Escort GT in a 1 1/2 car garage. Had to lift the front/back of the T-bird off the ground with a jack and push it into place.
Crazy, the things we do for our cars!
