Okay, I've read all these posts for upgrades.. tune, gears, etc.. are these good for just overall performace of the vehicle and extending its life?
Brian had a shift kit done in his truck when he first got it and it lasted well over 200k and he drives his vehicles pretty ruff.
He did the K&N filter for the MM and we want to do the tips for exhaust. As far as a tune and gears, how does that affect the car? It's not like we are looking to be first on race day or anything like that but, it will help the car stand up to the "drive it like you stole it" beating it gets, I think I would be all for it.

Thanks

If you read all the post then you have all the information you need.

I don't understand the question.

From everything I've been reading, people are doing it because they want to go faster. I don't want to do the mods to make it faster. Would a tune and tc upgrade be better since he is heavy on accleteration and heavy on stop?

I don't understand your question, either. If you don't want the car to go faster, then why do you want any kind of mods at all?

If your main concern is reliability, other than supercharging or nitrous none of the popular mods for this car adversely affect reliability, but they will all make the car more fun to drive. Some mods, such at 4.10s for instance, can have a small effect on gas mileage, so you need to know exactly what your goals are before you start turning wrenches.

A tune and torque converter is going to make the car a whole lot faster without a doubt.

PM me.

Let's just think about this for a second....

Why the driveshaft? Reliability

Why a built tranny? Oh, yeah, Reliability.

Why a rear engine cooling mod? Reliability again!

Why a T-stat and cooler plugs? That darned reliability.

There are many mods available for the car. Yes, most mods make it faster. Some mods make it more reliable. Some do BOTH!

Like RF said, Get a clear picture of what the car is for you and proceed accordingly.

Many see me as having done it backwards. I basically bullet-proofed the running gear, then worked on power mods. Well, when I got the 'charger, the car was READY. I see NO ISSUE with reliability. I actually expect my car to hold up BETTER with the mods it has on it and the care and attention those mods require.

So there's another point of view for ya. Feel free to ask WHAT ORDER you should do stuff in to maintain and increase that reliability.

It will live a long and happy life when you put mods on it.

J/K, but if you ride in a MM like Magindat's and others, I think you would choose the Red pill........ Mod Heaven
